Sven Baertschi- 7 game point streak

Lost in an awful, awful season for the Calgary Flames has been the lighting of the lamp of Sven Baertschi since being recalled from Abbotsford after the trade deadline.

He currently holds the longest point streak for a rookie this season, and has 9 points (so far) in his last 7 games and he'll still be eligible for the Calder next season! Kids really looks to be a player.

I said it before, and I will say it again. The guy is on par with Eberle skill wise. He is a stud

He's a gem. I secretly like Calgary and I'm really happy they have a player like him in the pipes. The city deserves it.

Glad the Flames and the Wild won't be in the same division from now on, it'll make cheering for Baertschi a lot easier. Love that kid.

When he puts up a 76 point season in his second year we can call his skill set similar.

Eberle may be overrated at times but he has still proven way more at different levels of pro hockey.

We'll trade you Belanger for him.

We're even willing to add Smyth.

2 players is always better than 1. Blindly accept this deal now.

Glad to get out of that division for innumerable reasons.

Glad to see Cgy has something to cheer about.

A solid top 10 pick along with what they have now will help the rebuild get going.

Someone should have reminded him that the Flames are meant to be tanking!

Still not completely sold on him being a stud...need to see him in a full season playing meaningful games. There's a very good chance he'll perform well but I need to see it first.

Now we are, but by now it's too late. We won't be catching the Oilers.

Production and skill sets are two different things.

Both players skill sets are the same, it's doubtfull Baertsschi is going to get 76 points in his 2nd season with the Flames with the centers they have but his skillset is on par with Eberle.

Flames would be very smart to draft at least 2 centers with their 3 first rounders IMO.

Sven's been fantastic since getting the opportunity.. Really pumped to see what he can do in a full season, after an offseason of bulking up and preparing.

When he puts up those kind of numbers over a longer period of time, then it will be something to talk about. Right now he is having a good 9 game run on a team that is out of the playoff race.

I can name one good example of this exact thing happening with a player last season, Spencer Machacek.

He came up on March 18th last season and played in the Jets last 11 games. He had 9 points in those 11 games and was a +8.

This season in the AHL he played 75 games and had only 39 points and was a -21, he played bad enough that he was traded for Tomas Kubalik.

9 games doesnt mean anything, you cant make judgments off of 9 good games.
