As bad as the B's have played lately,I think they can beat any team in the East[except Pittsburgh]in a 7 game series.I am confident Rask is going to shine.

No real significant changes, but here are the updated approximate odds with the Lightning beating the Leafs:

(1) Penguins = 100%
(2) Bruins = 63% Canadiens = 37%
(3) Capitals = 100%
(4) Canadiens = 54% Bruins = 36% Maple Leafs = 10%
(5) Maple Leafs = 64% Islanders = 16% Canadiens = 9% Senators = 7% Rangers = 3% Bruins = 1%
(6) Islanders = 37% Senators = 26% Rangers = 18% Maple Leafs = 19%
(7) Senators = 33% Rangers = 31% Islanders = 29% Maple Leafs = 6% Jets = 1%
(8) Rangers = 37% Senators = 29% Islanders = 18% Jets = 15% Maple Leafs = 1%

What if this played out 4 seed may be better than the 2
1pit beat by 8 NYR
2MTL beat by 7 ottowa
3 washington wins over NYI
4 Boston beats 5 Toronto

Then it is Washington vs NYR
We get Ottowa, Toronto then Ottowa what a great first 2 rounds

If we get the two seed our easiest route would be
Pitt over NYR
Bos over Ott
NYi upsets Washington
Toronto beats mtl

Pitt vs NYI
we get Toronto.

Suck route
Pitt over ott
Bos over Rags
Wash over 7
MTL
we get NYR wash and then the winner of pitt/mtl talk about the most nightmarish most sattisfying cup run.

I dont know the four seed seems like it might be a littlem better but you never know who will get upset and I say get home ice against MTL if we have to face them so I want the 2 but that might end up being an absolute grind.

Things are becoming more clear, after tonight's games here are the updated approximate odds:

(1) Penguins = 100%
(2) Bruins = 64% Canadiens = 36%
(3) Capitals = 100%
(4) Canadiens = 64% Bruins = 36%
(5) Maple Leafs = 91% Senators = 9%
(6) Senators = 48% Rangers = 36% Maple Leafs = 9% Islanders = 7%
(7) Rangers = 42% Senators = 30% Islanders = 28%
(8) Islanders = 65% Rangers = 22% Senators = 13%

I'm not big on choosing an opponent TO play, but I DO NOT want the Rangers in Rd.1. Do not want. I want them to finish 8th to play PIT myself.

Fwiw I would be fine with playing the habs in round 1. Might be just what this team needs.

I worry about the rags getting going against us and the mo mo bus just running us over.

I think the B's would be ready for another habs series battle. Id sign for that.

The Bruins and Canadiens can no longer face each-other in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals as they will be the #2 and #4 seeds regardless of how the playoff teams perform to end the regular season.

If the Bruins finish as the #2 seed, they will start off at home against either the Rangers, Senators or Islanders.

If the Bruins finish as the #4 seed, they will start off at home against either the Maple Leafs or Senators.

Am I the only one who would welcome a series with the Rangers? They don't have the one guy who killed us all year anymore: Gaborik. I think it's big enough of a series that a win could be a major spark going into round 2.

I dont want to be losing games like we are right before the playoffs. BUT I honestly take a look at the standings on Saturday and think about what would be the best matchup. If it looks destined for us to play the Rangers I think about dropping two games to get into 4th place.

Ill wait and see what happens. If we play the Rangers, we play the Rangers. Don't lose any games/the division (on purpose) to get a better matchup, that's an upset waiting to happen.

I didn't want the Habs in 2011, we beat them. Didn't want godlike Miller and the Sabres that much in 2010, we upset them. What will be will be.

The Bruins could very easily steamroll the Rangers, but Julien always tries to match Tortorella's lame trapping instead.

We'll have to wait for sure who between Tor, Ott, NYR and NYI we'll get in the 1st round. What is clear is that the B's should win the series against every one of these teams.

Bring on anyone.

The only thing I think about is finish in the 2 seed so game 7 ecf is at home not in montreal, were the best team in the East best goalie in the league again, we should be favorites no matter who we face in my mind.

I don't like to hope for the "best" teams to get knocked aside...I like the idea of beating the staunchest competition. Even so...it would be a lot of fun to watch the Islanders knock the Penguins out in Round 1. O...Sweet Dreams of Kaspairitis...

Bring on the Rags - or anyone else for that matter. Round 1 will be a grind regardless, B's will find their game and get it done.
