Share Your Honest Comments re the Playoffs

1. If the Hawks don't win the cup i'll deal w/ it but be; disappointed
2. Even though i'm a Hawks fan, if there's a playoff scenario where the habs beat the leafs i might vomit
3: i think the hawks will win re puck possession and lose if that's their only playoff game.

1. Real excited about seeing Toronto back in. My friend that's a Habs fan sends me angry texts all the time now though.

2. Afraid the Hawks will lay an egg in round one. They've been consistent all year, but a few bad games is all it takes.

There is no team that IMO has more than a 20% chance of winning and the Penguins are clear favorites compared to any other team...a lot of other teams have a legitimate shot at winning the Cup.

Luck has a lot more to do with winning than anyone wants to admit.

TML would love to play MTL in the first round.

OTT could upset anyone now that Karlsson is back because they have been stellar defensively.

Not expecting to win any game, anything above my expectation is a plus.

No way we see a CHI - PIT final, would be too perfect.

There are 6 Eastern teams I'd rather play than the 2nd worst team in the West.

Thinking Ottawa will upset a team in round 1
Thinking Van could make a run if they start with LA (simply due to higher level of focus n motivation, not cuz they are necessarily better)
Hoping CBJ makes it in over Minny
Whatever team faces the Blues may win, but will likely not win round 2
Thinking Bos and Mon may be 1 and done
Chi will lose to a team that is faster and more physical than them
Hoping for the 3 O6 matchups to happen, Bos-NYR, Tor-Mon, Chi-Det
Thinking the Pens will romp to the cup.

1. If the Hawks don't win the Cup, I'll be depressed all summer.
2. If the Canadiens, Rangers, or Bruins go deep, I will be infuriated.
3. I'll be happy if the Islanders or Capitals win a series.

1. I am very happy for Toronto fans that their team is finally in.
2. I am heartbroken on behalf of Winnipeg fans who have waited for so long, and now must continue to wait.
3. I honestly hope that the Kings meet up with the Canucks in the first round again. Vancouver won't be taken by surprise twice.
4. Brad Marchand remains my second least fave player, but Duncan Keith is now #1 in my little black book of hate. I shall watch and wait, and wish terrible outcomes for them both. *tents fingers like Mr. Burns*

Hope the Wild and Lumbus make it over the Red Wings.
Wild/Ducks first round would be cool for me.
Hope whoever the Canadiens play sweeps them right out.
Woulda said that I hope the Senators lose out and the Jets make it instead, but yeah...

I don't have links on hand, but some really good hockey stats folks have shown that something like 70% of goals are due to luck. And as someone who has been a hockey fan for more than a couple of decades, it passes the eye-test, too. Not that it has to, but I think most people who have a clue what's going on have no problem admitting how much luck is involved in most sports, especially hockey.

However, that remaining 30% is still a big deal and everyone has to fight for it and make it matter over the course of four series. Anecdotally, I have never seen a team advance if they did not deserve to win their series. Not once. As a result, why talk that much about the luck that all teams have to deal with equally? I think that's what's going on most of the time: people admit it, but just don't talk about it because it goes nowhere.

Since we are being honest.
I have high expectations for the Pens this year and view anything less than a cup final or cup to be a failure. That said I'm worried they'll get upset because teams with long streaks traditionally don't win the cup. I think Bylsma's a great coach but I'm also sick of us not getting out of the early rounds in recent years. They've played so well this year and have such a great group it all seems almost too good to be true.

But who knows, this year is weird and all bets are off. Anything is possible with hockey.

Toronto/Leafs fans making such a big deal for making it to the playoffs is really getting on my nerves. But in an odd way I have the highest respect for their dedication and consider them the most dedicated fanbase in the league. It's a paradox of respect/annoyance.

I kind of like the Islanders and I feel dirty about it. Normally at least lately I have grown to hate the franchise but I like some of their players.

I don't think Detroit or Minnesota deserve to be in the playoffs, but at least one of them has to make it.

Part of me wants LA to repeat, but the other part couldn't deal with Kings fans on HF if they did.

The only teams I actually want to see have some kind of success are Boston, NYI, Chicago, St. Louis, Los Angeles, and Minnesota/Columbus.

I don't expect the Wild to win a game.

Worst case scenario for me: Pittsburgh wins another cup.

1. Surprised but happy the Ducks not only made the playoffs but finished 2nd in the West.
2. I think the Ducks would do better against CHI or VAN than against STL or the other CA teams.
3. Super excited that the Leafs will play in the playoffs again.
4. Hope my 2 favourite Canadian teams don't end up facing eachother in the 1st round (TOR/MTL)
5. I am dead sure we won't see CHI vs. PIT in the finals.
6. Rooting for PHI/NYR first round matchup. One team I don't like gone.
7. I am super afraid that the LA Kings repeat...

1. There are no easy match-ups in the west this year. I, for one, wouldn't be surprised if any team advance from the first round. Well, maybe except the team who plays Chicago. All the other match-ups are a wash.

2. There are 6 teams in the East I would rather have my Canucks face in the first round than the second worst team in the West.

3. Chi vs. Pit will not happen. There are simply too much luck involved.

4. My guess for the finals: Stl vs. Wsh. Stl wins.

Really impressed with the variety of teams that have made it this year.

As much as I'd love to see a Pens v Hawks final I think it would be better if a true underdog went all the way.

I have to ask - how did THAT one happen LOL you usually don't see a person who likes BOTH of those teams.

Ottawa is looking like they're out of gas just making the playoffs.
