Re-watching the game and I just want to reiterate how well we were playing up until Gilroy took that stupid penalty. We were in complete control of that game. It really sucked the energy out of the Ranger's game and we couldn't get any flow going again until the 3rd.

And yet we won. I think it speaks volumes about the team. Henrik was not great and we still won. If anything it gives me confidence to know that we can get out played and still find ways to win games (as good teams do).

On a serious note, bad Gilroy. Bad.

I couldn't catch the game, but the stat sheet seems to suggest it was similar to the Florida game except we managed to tie it up in the end and then win it in OT.

I.E. total domination, but that annoying inability to cash in on your chances while the other team seems to score on every opportunity they get.

In other news, I guess Hank won't win the Vezina this year. It sucks, but Bob is clearly ahead of him this year.

Nice OT Winner.

Did they play great? No, but everyone was so negative.
If Hank makes a save or two on one of those 2 on 1's like he normally would the game is totally different. We dominated the 3rd just couldn't get it to go in. Gotta look at this team down the stretch, they had a few bad games but also had quite a few great games.
Anything can happen in the playoffs. Biggest shot in the arm could be getting Staal back. Missing Boyle too, he will add depth. Lets hope Clowe is not out for a significant amount of time either. If Isles stay in 8th against Pitts, I think we have a good shot in the 1st round. Regardless, this is all good experience now for the team.

I feel confident that we can get past Boston or Montreal if we play them. Beat the "Irrelevant Ones" tomorrow and get the 7th spot.
Btw, I think the Isles will get at least a point tonight.

Call me crazy, but I think the Rangers best matchup is against Pittsburgh. I have a gut feeling the Pens would hard time getting past Lundqvist.

It's one of those games that leave a sick feeling in your gut. Such an important game to blow a 2-0 in. The thought of having to deal with a game #48 elimination game against none other than the Devils on national stage with spotlight was enough to send me off the rail during the game. The Jets were up 1-0 and then 2-1 before it was all over. The surreal reality flashed before my eyes. The entire season, the one that was fought for between the NHL and the NHLPA and its constituents and the season that everyone had high hopes for could all be in vain because of a blown lead. The guilty party being Matt Gilroy who hasn't been a part of this team and their ups and downs all year and in the past for that matter made me even more sick because it would be a sick injustice to deal onto our hard working players and passionate fans. When we lost momentum, it was a game that was seemingly out of reach and a game that would take a great deal to just have a chance to win. The negativity came from the plethora of emotions that surged through everyone. Joy, excitement, hope, disappointment, sadness, anger, despair, doubt, shame, elation, nervousness, panic, and finally the sense of absolute relief and the reality in one shot on a play that seemed like nothing at first. I felt violated after the game. The negativity will thin out today.

The 1st penalty was stupid however the 2nd one they scored the PP goal on was a joke he barely touched him

I really hope Torts gives Hank the game off against the Devils. He Looks like he could really use the game off, not so much physically as mentally.

I get the Canes having nothing else to talk about, but in a playoff clinching game in our network... Sam and Joe just wouldn't call the game.

Winnipeg also lost, so much ado about nothing actually. Still, good thing they did it. I guess Ellis' skate made up for all those Hasek-esque saves before. Also good to see how Montreal has been ******** their bed lately, we might be able to grind through, especially with Dorsett and Staal.

Jets were up 2-1 when Rangers game went to OT. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
