Cannot stress the importance of this game. One of the most important games of the season. It holds with it the fate of our playoff seed and were playing against a team looking to finish the season with a strong ending at home, probably against a Miller that maybe be playing his last game in a sabres jersey.

Tonights lineup should be the lineup that we go to battle with.

I'm getting tired of beating the same dead horse. Can we PLEASE change up the struggling pp units?

Let's go Islanders

Perfect world:
Isles win tonight in regulation or OT
Devils beat Rangers in any fashion tomorrow
Ottawa loses to Philly Saturday and Bruins Sunday (or only get a combined 1 pt in their last 2)
That would get the isles back to 6th, Isles/Caps

Wouldn't be so bad:
Isles win, rags lose, boston drops its last 2, montreal beats toronto
Isles in 7th, Montreal retakes 2nd, Isles/Habs

Worst outcome:
Pretty much everyone wins all their games, or isles lose tonight
Isles/Pens

regardless, next weekend I'm going to a playoff game :-)

If Isles win and Ottawa wins in a shootout against Philly and lose to Boston and get no points we are ahead of them.

Yeah I said that if the sens only get 1 pt in their final 2 then that's acceptable

OTL, you heard it here first.

Actually I think Viz played pretty bad last two games.

Thankfully the Sens and Rags both won yesterday, so I am confident we have a good shot at winning this game. Their victories probably saved us another flat appearance tonight and a spot against the Pens. Now we can get that 7th seed which is better than the 6th seed and better than the 8th one

GO ISLES GO!

The Sens could get 2 out of 4 points and we could still be ahead of them in the standings. Isles would have more Regulation/Overtime wins if the sens get the 2 points in a shootout.

as long as they either get a shootout victory or 2 OT losses, we indeed stay ahead (which is what I think will happen)

Idk about that, the one team we don't match up well against is the Bruins.

I think the team hasn't played too well lately, but regardless, the earliest they'll have game 1 is Monday and possibly Wed if they open in Pitt, so I don't think rest is too essential for some of these guys.

I think the opposite actually. Obviously nobody wants to play the Caps right now, so I would stay away from the 6th seed. As for the Pens, we all know how good they are and with Crosby coming back...enough said...

As for the Bruins, people think we don't match up against them but I can see otherwise. Last year, the Capitals were seeded 7th and took out the #2 Bruins in the playoffs. I see our team to be very similar the Capitals of last year, very offensively minded and doesn't get pushed around too easily. The Bruins are used to bullying the other teams in the playoffs and shutting them down with their defense. I don't think this would work against the Isles because we have some very physical players of our own and our offense can strike with all our 4 lines on the ice.

Their playing style would get challenged against us, as we saw in our last game versus them, when we won a "Bruins-type" hockey game 2-1 and played more physical than them...

I can't say for sure, but the Bruins recent play these last few weeks seem to reveal that they aren't as "tough" as people make them out to be...

Having our best guys at their best for the playoffs is not as important as playing the Caps instead of the Pens? Ovenchicken is hot as hell right now! Montreal will own the refs. Boston will pummel us. We need the team that wore themselves out with the hottest April I've ever seen in ages to be ONE HUNDRED PERCENT.

Talk about losing perspective.

We have subs going in to get action and regulars resting up for the series coming up. We are IN.

I'd rest JT if he needed it but he doesn't need it. The playoffs are here. We should have won with Poulin only giving up two goals, chicken littles, but it takes a critical, non reactive non drama mind to admit we were not passing well and not shooting well last night.

SOMEONE BLAMED IT ON POULIN BEING IN NET??????

I dunno. Maybe being insane makes people happier. There's gotta be a draw to it.
