I think so too.

But if he does stay, playing for Znarok would be amazing school for him. It's like going to the army- he'll either come out handicapped or a real man.

these are good news - he can run out to NHL
His godfather :
'Валера в России хотел выступать только за Трактор. И если и уезжать из Челябинска, то только в НХЛ. Его дом – здесь.'
Valera in Russia wanted to play only for "Tractor". And if leave from Chelyabinsk, then only in the NHL. His house - here

Do you really think he'd turn down all the money he could be making at Dynamo?

Why Dinamo would pay 10 million for the guy who leaves to the NHL? Does it make any sence?

Why wouldn't he stay in Russia for one more year, make a pile of money and then go to the NHL?

I mean, it was believed he would stay in Russia for 2 more years...not 1, so this might actually help his draft status plus he'll make a bunch of money.

Can someone explain their logic? 10 mil to a club + 2 mil next season only to likely lose him to the nhl. I don't get it.

If i were him i would stay in Russia for one year and pocket the 10 million. Then I would leave for the NHL after 1 year.

Putin was apparently a driving force behind the transfer.

His contract is 2M, 10M go to Traktor IIUC. Great deal for 4elyabinsk, and Dynamo tries to build the dynasty.

Oh I see! Must have misread...
I thought he really wanted to play for Traktor though. I don't see how he stays if he isn't playing for Traktor

Highlight-reel goal against the US. Kid's gonna be a superstar, I'm convinced of it.

See this is where it gets confusing for me. He's making 2mill there, but on an ELC in the NHL he'll likely make more. So he's not staying for money for sure, and if he's said he wants to play for Traktor and he can't maybe he tries to get out.

Right now, you make $925,000 at most on an ELC and anything else is performance bonuses.

He hasn't looked particularly good this tournament. Buchnevich on the other hand....

Yeah, but as far as I understand they're pretty easily attainable bonuses right? And that can max him out at 3.75mill iirc.

They're as follows..
A bonuses ($850,000):
- top six on team in ice time
- 20 goals
- 35 assists
- 60 points
- top three on team in +/-
- All-Rookie team
- All-Star Game
- All-Star Game MVP

B bonuses ($2,000,000):
- league trophies (Byng, Hart, Selke, Richard)
- top three in Calder voting
- end of season All-Star teams
- Conn Smythe
- top ten in league scoring

So the majority of the money is B bonuses, which are harder to attain.

He was in Sochi early on during the U18's, not sure if he's stayed there the whole time though.

There's also this..:

IgorKleyner SovSport is now reporting Nichushkin is so upset about being traded to Dinamo wo his knowledge, he is leaning toward America *this* summer

..which isn't possible unless he buys out his own contract.

Aside from these developments, i thought Nichushkin was by far the best player on the ice today. Not perfect in any way, but he's clearly a dynamic talent.

His first couple games were a little off, but he was excellent versus the US team today. Buchnevich has impressed me all tournament, I'd be thrilled if he slipped to the Sharks' first pick in the 2nd round, wouldn't mind trading up for him and wouldn't be shocked if he went in the first. He's incredibly talented.

If Nichushkin says he'll pay off his KHL team and come over this year (or heck even next year) how high does he go? Are we talking about one McKinnon or Drouin dropping to 4?
