Edmonton's down 3-1 in the remaining mintues of the 3rd. On top of playing bad they have Yakupov diving like an idiot.

Lol! Wow! That's a Crosby level dive...

The NHL really needs to address this crap.

Yeah, that was really weird.

He did look to be in pain on the bench, but maybe it was from embarrassment?

not that anyone cares, but Eisbären Berlin, the team Giroux and Briere were playing for during the lock-out, won the DEL Championship again this year.

There aren't a lot of teams I hope have horrible seasons, but Nashville is one of them. Their fans can come of kinda smug when talking about their players. Some don't think they have an aging top 9. Well when you have Legwand(32, injury prone), Fisher(32), and Gaustad(30) as your top 3 centers, that's not a good start. Then they have a lot of complimentary players(spare Horny) on their roster. Colin Wilson does show some promise though. It's no wonder they struggled this year, along with the injuries. They like us are a team that really wasn't put together that well.

Now their is rumors they are looking to move their draft pick for the right deal. It makes sense, because people often get caught up in the hype regarding the draft. That team, with it's finances, needs to make it back to the playoffs. Yes, they do receive revenue sharing, but missing the playoffs and that income will hurt any small market franchise. Any player they take with the 4-6th spot in the draft most likely won't be giving high end contributions until 3-4 years down the road. I don't think Nashville's management and ownership wants to wait for that. Now the Flyers really don't have anything to offer them for that pick, which sucks.

All in all I hope they just struggle again next year. They already had one player ask out of there for the hopes of a championship(kinda of a shot at Nahsville's management there).

I want Weber during our draft year LOL.

Did Giroux/Briere play enough games for a ring? haha.

In other news though, Erik Karlsson will be returning tonight. A little over 2 months after suffering his Achilles injury.

It truly is, I won't do this research, but I wonder if there ever was a player who came back as quick as he did from this type of injury? I'm thinking there isn't.

Indeed, especially with some (admittedly on the deep end of hyerbole) wondering if this was a career-ending injury and others believing Karlsson could miss considerable time next season.

You'd think with the teeth-gnashing and garment-rending at the time that Karlsson's foot was amputated.

That's a quick return. I wonder if he got that new-fangled stem cell stuff Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson, and now RG3 have partaken in.

At the time I had thought it was career threatening reading that thread on the main boards. That is insane considering it was 70% lacerated wasnt it?

As posted on the main boards, the last game in the series between Blainville-Boisbriand and Baie Comeau ended with a bench-clearing brawl.

The series is tied 2-2, and probably more fireworks to come.

Refs really didn't do a great job trying to break that ordeal up. At one point the one ref is seen just skating around the bench while every player is dropping the mitts.

Their inactivity is particularly noticeable with the absence of effort to intervene in the fights that went to the ice and one player on top of the other.

at least in the NHL, anyone can get a ring. It's the team that gets them made. Jack Edwards got one when BOS won

It wouldnt surprise me if they send them rings

Another great game by Bob...he's really posting Vezina stats (20 wins, 2.03 GAA, 931 SV%).

He is being compared to The Bulin Wall now. Columbus still has a chance to get in the playoffs ...all b/c of Bob who is giving Columbus a chance to win every night.

I meant to repost the follow-up to the Armada-Drakkar brawl, as reported on TSN: 12 players, including all four goalies (!) were suspended; 7 from Baie Comeau and 5 from Blainville-Boisbriand. One player each received 2 games and the rest got a game. Both coaches were suspended for 2 games, and both teams were fined $5,000.

Does this mean that Straka would be getting better chances and possibly more points since all the better goalies and so on are not there?

It should mean some interesting line-ups for sure. I looked up the penalty totals, and it seems like it's the muscle men who are mostly out. Good news for players like Straka, especially with shooting on a 3rd stringer.

I always felt he was comparable to Khabibulin when he was with Russian Penguins/Winnipeg Jets

He really got his technique down and stablized his game when Jets moved to Pho

If I were a NJ fan I'd be furious at how they've handled their future G situation. They have Brodeur, who is as old as the stars, and Hedberg, who is also ancient. They should have had Brodeur's replacement in Hedberg's spot, starting a few seasons ago, to get him ready and have him mentored by Marty. What is their plan when he retires?

They kept their 1st rounder last hoping that Subban or Vasilevski was still around when they picked but both went prior to that.
