Game 47: Calgary @ Chicago - 2013/04/26 7:30 CST

Sounds like Stanton will be slotting in tonight.

Good for him. He's been Rockford's best defenseman for the last two years. (three? I can't remember)

Excellent. I'm glad they are doing this. Maybe Stanton is the fall back option instead of Montador.

@MarkLazerus
Quenneville liked the way Handzus played between Kane & Sharp. Suggested it could be a long-term move even when Bolland's back. #Blackhawks

Now that would be a surprise.

Also Block clarifies something about call-ups, but I don't know which rule he's referring to

@ChrisBlock
The #Blackhawks are limited to just a few recalls from AHL Rockford #IceHogs due to the NHL 4-recall rule before Monday when its unlimited.

@ChrisBlock
In other words, the "Black Aces" will be made official Monday. Hawks were never going to be able to skate "the IceHogs" Saturday at St Louis

Handzus sadly is upgrade over Bolland bigtime ,, But still not ideal to have Handzus playing in top 6 role

His passing is marvelous. No one is asking to finish.

Good. Handzus looked solid. 2C has been a black hole since the start of the season.
Great that Stanton is getting a look too.

Handzus is a better option than anyone else with the club. He has proven himself. Not ideal, but he's looked pretty good out there. Looks like San Jose kept him fresh.

I LOVE Handzus on the 2nd with this roster. Win faceoffs and make passes, that's his role.

Will allow Bolland to go back to his best role when he comes back too.

Good for Stanton. Will be a little disappointed if Pirri doesnt get to play in this one.

Edit: Stanton wont be playing tonight

Defenseman Ryan Stanton won't play tonight, but Quenneville said he'll play tomorrow at St. Louis. #Blackhawks

If Zeus excels at 2C which he did against the Oil and Bolland goes back to his spot we won't be seeing Pirri till next year. If they're not giving him games now they certainly won't in the playoffs.

The 2nd line has been a spot of confusion all year. Ideally you want someone who can win faceoffs and a couple of guys who are good on puck retrieval. Solid defensively with some skill wouldn't hurt either. Since Sharp went out, has Kane had any linemates with those characteristics until now? Just kind of mind-bottling (get it? Cause Kane likes to drink or something) that's it's gone on this long. Especially when he'd fit with Toews and Saad so perfectly. Would still be the best move for the short and long term to switch him and Hossa.

And yeah Handzus has been pretty good so far. Can win faceoffs, responsible defensively , (still) a good passer, and can win board battles. I took the SJ fans word on it that he was just too slow as I hadn't payed much attention to him the last couple of years (although he used to "kill" us with LA). He really isn't at all and he doesn't need to be fast for that line anyway.

Yeah Zues is a strong 2 way player we all hope it works out since his first stint with us only lasted 8 games. He's a veteran presence who can do all the right things.

We need you guys to win and the Preds and Oilers to win as well.

Would put us into top 5 draft pick territory.

From what I saw of the Oilers - they can't even stay home and beat themselves.

I would love to see Kane have a couple big games here today and tomorrow and walk away with the Art Ross. He's only 4 points back with 2 games left. Everyone ahead of him has 1 game left.

Definitely working late, almost assuredly going to be missing a good chunk of the game.

Kane's got the Art Ross on the line and Saad has a good chance to jump ahead of the pack in the rookie scoring race, which would help a great deal with the Calder.
