Browns measurables look solid. 4.67 40, 21 reps. Definately the biggest need outside OT to replace Urlacher.

Why wouldn't we take Geno Smith at 50 if he is there? I know it isn't a priority but that's great value and he has the tools. Seems like the perfect guy to be a backup for 3-4 years and get ready.

I think Smith is going at 33.

That's good then, not sure why someone would get mad though. I mean you'd think they'd be happy to just get picked even if it was a lower pick.

Unless teams lied to him and told him they'd take him in the 1st round and then changed their mind as the draft played out.

2 things I don't like about taking Long at 20. I think we could of traded back with the Falcons or someone and get another pick. Second, he is going to be 25 when the season starts, IMO that's a concern.

I was reading tweets that Emery had his fingers crossed hoping Long was there even with all those other guys were available.

Emery's first draft is still up in the air. I still have high hopes for Alshon Jeffery. I still think he's going to be a stud. Hopefully McClellin bounces back with a good year this year. But so far, Emery's draft grade for me with one draft and one player is a D.

Even then, to me it just seems like a spoiled brat kinda tantrum xD.

This is a business and I think NFL is most cut throat with just dumping players too. The sooner these guys realize it the better.

Its impossible to speculate on trades. Long is about 18 months older than most college seniors. Is that a big deal? If he retires in 2023 instead of 2024? Is that a big deal?

I would have no problem with kid not attending

Had to be very embarrassing and humiliating for him to sit with his family and watch everyone else get selected

If he is there today the camera's will continue to be on him and if he continues to fall it will be even more humiliating

Odds are Geno Smith will be the first QB taken in round 2. Wont last long either. Some team is going to get a super value. Wish the Bears had a chance but theres no way hes dropping that far.

Odds say that but Smith had been a lock to be 1st QB taken most of season

Barkley or Nassib could slip in before him depending on how teams view them

And again wasting a pick in this draft on QB is not good ,, Wont help Bears this coming season

If Bears are writting off 2013 season then they should trade Cutler/Marshall/Tillman/Peppers and go with full rebuild

Long is a reach and I would have wanted Floyd or Eifert... now hoping that we get 1 of Nassib, Barkley, Ertz, Te'o or Minter at 50

Why draft a QB when we can get a franchise QB next year if Cutler doesn't work out? That is unfathomable and the worst idea I've heard. I would be so incredibly pissed off if we did that.

Like worse than BWC pissed off.

I heard some rumors bears and chargers are interested in Glennon.

I think bears are not saying anything though. People thought Te'o we took a guard.

I think we need to go LB in the second after a trade down to add a third.

Positions I hope we target in the 2nd:

LB (Minter, Brown, Greene, Te'o if he's there)
WR (Swope)
CB (Robert Alford would be intriguing)
OG/C (Brian Schwenke)

Yes, if we take another O-Linemen I won't even be mad. Trestman, in Canada, his first year there took his QB from being the most sacked in the CFL to the least sacked. No doubt he and Kromer took a look at the Bears line, realized it sucked, and want to do a complete rebuild. If we take another lineman in Round 2, then so be it. Get it fixed. I realize Schwenke is a 3rd rounder, but we don't have one, so to hell with it. If they think he is the Center for the future (and he's a GREAT Center prospect) then get the kid.

Honestly, I'm on board with any of the above. But how great would it be if we have a solid, rebuild line this year, that we can develop and keep Cutler off his back.

This won't happen. No chance in hell our 2nd round pick will be worth another teams' 2nd round pick and a 3rd round pick. We might get a 5th or a 6th, but it isn't worth it. The only movable pick we had was #20. IMO we just keep our picks and get the guys we want.

Jets have made calls today to multiple teams to try to move up from 39th spot in second round to draft QB. Debated Geno Smith at No. 13.
Sanchez couldn't handle pressure of Tebow behind him ,, He will have complete breakdown with a real QB as threat

Smart by Jets if they can get Smith ,, Only a matter of time til the Sanchez mistake ends

Right. Last year the Bears moved up 6 picks in the 2nd round and it cost them a 5th I believe.

Relax bros you guys seem up in arms lately. Unlikely but anything can happen if the right guys there.

TBH BWC makes some decent points sometimes and you guys always disagree with xD.

Especially last year Such as the fact that McClellin does not really fit our teams defense and still doesn't and is a little undersized, and is also not great against the run. it was and still remains a grey area pick. I guess what I'm trying to say is you all look for arguments xD

Charges against Evan Rodriguez have been dropped.

“Evan was not intoxicated nor did he engage in disorderly conduct,” a statement from the law office said. “After a careful review of the facts, the State Attorney’s office made a conclusive determination that no crimes were committed by Evan Rodriguez and accordingly and appropriately dropped all the charges for which he was mistakenly arrested.”

I would like to see us getting a QB at #50. Those would be a good value pick. Gives us leverage with Cutler and we won't suck as much to get one of the good QBs next year.
