Anyone knows what's going on with the metro? (Green line LG-Angrignon)

A lot of friends are posting on facebook about how the green line is shutting down every so often today and staying down for extended periods of time, but no one knows why. I took the metro around noon and I had no issues, although passing through LaSalle station, cops were carrying a stretcher with a blanket over it covering something. May have been nothing, but I'm curious to know if it's going to be something temporary or an all day thing.

I haven't heard anything about it since, but it did cause me to be an hour late to work yesterday. All I know is that at 8:30am, they announced that there was an accident and the line would be shut down until 9:30, which was then extended to at least 9:45. I didn't read anything about further shutdowns over the course of the day though.

Unfortunately, it was a suicide.. it happened to my train. Conductor said that we need to evacuate the train because of a broken tire but then when everyone was outside, ambulances arrived..so I knew it was more than a broken tire.

They never announce these in the news because it would give more people the idea to do it.

That must be a horrible thing for conducters to see when they see someone jump. They must hold their breath every time they go to a station

That's just horrible way to die. I'm a little bit surprised that no one saw her falling especially during rush hour.

wierd story

Don't understand why people are questioning the safety of the metro... can't really start building fences everywhere.

Why not a system like the elevators ? Or just hire Security Guards for every stations.

The decline of Western Civilization, as witnessed through hfboards; circa 2013.
Why hasn't anyone nominated this girl for a Darwin award?

The glass doors wouldn't work because of the sheer amount of necessary infastructure needed. However, it is entrirely possible to have 'fences' like in Tokyo. When I was there and saw that, I couldn't help wondering why we didn't have this in montreal yet...

Do they have also those people who are pushing passengers on board to make sure not a single square inch of space is lost ?

the part about her getting dragged for two stations before people noticed blood on the tracks is pretty damn devastating!

True that I've never seen a single security person in a station.

When kids were doing the alcool marathon, the guy in charge learned it in the news...

I don't see why they should waste millions to build a fence.
Why don't bubbles for every single citizen?
Use god damn common sense and stop doing stupid ****!
I swear people / kids these days are complete morons and virtually useless.
I remember back in the day when I was 7-8, I was able to take the bus, subway by myself and took my little brother who was 3-4 with me. I could do grocery shopping myself, laundry all at that age.

Now a days, most kids in their teens and early 20s can barely tie their damn shoe laces.

Re-reading my post, it might have sounded rude and that wasn't the intent, sorry. I'm just mad that someone would die because of a thing like that and I'm mad that we live in a world where we have to write on a cup of coffee to be careful because it might be hot... Adding fences would prevent accidents, no doubt. I just find this extremely, demoralizing.

Being a moron doesn't mean you deserve to die.

Also, these sort of problems cause metro interruption which are damaging to the public service offered. Not having service breakdown would certainly help a lot to the metro's reliability and reputation.
