Yup. And my guess is if we play Boston that will be a Wednesday start because the NHL isn't going to have them play their 3rd game in 4 days to open the playoffs.

Watching it live, I thought his right bent at a strange, unnatural angle as he tried to stop. One of those injuries that sometimes happen, particularly on bad ice and have absolutely nothing to do with the other player. He had a bit of a delayed reaction and then immediately coasted to the bench as best he could, unable to put weight on the right leg or use it to push off.

I hate to say it, but I'm thinking it's a leg injury and it's pretty bad - as in possibly done for the POs.

If they draw Boston and what you say is true, then the series would have to start on Tuesday. I say that because usually playoff games in the NHL are every other day, so the schedule would look something like this:

Game 1 - Tues 4/30 in BOS
Game 2 - Thurs 5/2 in BOS
Game 3 - Sat 5/4 at MSG
Game 4 - Mon 5/6 at MSG
Game 5 - Wed 5/8 in BOS
Game 6 - Fri 5/10 at MSG
Game 7 - Sun 5/12 in BOS

When setting up the schedule on Sunday, they would have to avoid 5/3 because thats a potential Game 6 for the Knicks/Celtic series, and 5/5 at the Garden for a potential game 7 (not happening, but it doesnt matter). Unless there are some of circumstances we dont know about thats the likely schedule if they draw Boston.

Non-contact injuries are usually not short-term. Hopefully its just a tweak and theres no structural damage.

So after the hit to the head, he went off favoring one leg?

If that's not a groin concussion....

I would imagine given the dire situation of the game and Clowe's reputation for being a warrior this injury must be pretty serious since he wasn't able to come back out on the ice at any point.

Just an opinion, but a tweak would/should not have kept him out the remainder of the game given that we were tanking the game, and maybe even the season, away.

Doesn't bode well for the Rangers.

When will Dorsett be ready to go? Anxious to see if he adds a spark (energy) to the line-up!

Knicks/Heat and Rangers/Caps had some games scheduled at same time last year. NBA made their schedule after the NHL had already been established in that instance but other than 5/5, I think there is possibility Knicks and Rangers play at same time.

For what it's worth, this is what I came across on Facebook group "The Broadway Hat":

-Brian Boyle still out indefinitely
-Ryan Callahan was hit in the hand last night but is believed to be ok
-Ryan Clowe was injured last night but is expected to be back for Round 1 of the Playoffs
-Derek Dorsett has been practicing with a no-contact jersey, will have CT Scan to try to be cleared for contact sometime likely within the next 24-48 hours.
-No update on Marc Staal
-Still nothing on Michael Sauer

Ryane Clowe, who suffered an undisclosed injury Thursday against the Hurricanes, and Callahan---who was taking a well-earned maintenance day---did not practice Friday. Also absent was Arron Asham, whose wife gave birth in the early hours of Friday morning, and Brian Boyle remained off ice as he rests and rehabs an undisclosed injury.

Kris Newbury, who was officially recalled from the Connecticut Whale after Thursday's game, took part in practice, as did Marc Staal and Derek Dorsett, who are both close to returning to game action folowing lengthy injury absences.

Dorsett reported that he was going for a CT scan on his clavicle to make sure the break is sufficently healed, hopeful that it will be the last hurdle to clear before being cleared to make his Rangers debut.

"I was really excited last night when we tied the game and then scored in overtime because obviously it kept my season alive---and everyone's season---and I now I just can't wait to step on the ice for the first time, I'm antsy," Dorsett said on Friday. "Now we'll get the CT scan, and make a decision (on playing) from there."

As I stated above, I really don't think the NHL is going to have Boston play their 3rd game in 4 days to open the playoffs on Tuesday. Boston will open their series on Wednesday imo.

I agree.

It wouldn't be the worst thing for us in they're forced to play Tues...

thanks, Zenith. That's pretty good news about DD and Staal.

Crazy how secret the Rangers are. Literally not a peep about Boyler.

Anxious to see Dorsett. Staal back on D is a huge boost. I'm assuming Eminger goes out?

I'd imagine something along these lines. I don't really hate this at all, pretty even and deep. Would like to see Staal/Girardi reunited, but that just complicates things.

That d-core is an average of 24.5yrs old.

I would think so. MDZ benefits from playing with our best defensive guy, who can cover his 'Del Zaster' moments. McD and Girardi play very well together and Moore-Stralman is a great bottom pairing. Dat defensive depth.

i don't have a problem with newb being up either. he was a lot better looking last time he was up. his energy is what we need. when cally takes a game off nobody seems to have the energy to keep the flow going-- newbury seems like he can do that to a point.

actually like newbury over just turnovers miller
I don't know... Ryan Clowe might not be so content with a broken jaw..

And the average age of the three guys on D (Hamrlik, Eminger, Gilroy) then riding the pine would be 32 years

For all of you guys worrying, here is a video of Cerny interviewing Staal today (4/26), speaking about the clinched playoffs and stepping on the ice ASAP.
http://blueshirtsunited.com/videos/3...e#.UXuSxKK-qmc

He looks great! Swelling has subsided, no permanent damage, looks normal. Can't see his pupils from the angle, but he looks great overall.

Have a look. All the boys are excited to be in the playoffs!
