wonderlic scores are really stupid. Who cares how intelligent a player is? Youre not paying him to cure cancer.

Ryan fitzpatrick recorded the highest wonderlic score ever. You want him as a franchise QB?

And as serious as they are DUIs dont mean anything to the NFL but a slap on the wrist and a joke of a substance abuse counseling.

Lastly, a lot of players are converted from other positions. Chances are they were converted for a reason. Ask Anquan Boldin if he regrets being moved from QB to WR.

yeah im with ZBC. Look at what miami gave up compared to all other teams that moved up. A mid 2nd moved them into the top 3 to take the best D player in the draft.

Im not sure who said miamis move was bad, havent read the whole thread, but i bet it was a jets fan which would be ironic.

I would have taken one of the guards lol, but I don't think the Sabrematrician (Idzik) values OL that much if the two guys we drafted and Austin were three of the top four on our board.

Never heard of Datone Jones, but i hope he can make a solid impact. if all goes well and Perry comes back at full strength the Pass Rush has a chance at being pretty passable, though I'm still not happy with the Linebacker core the Packers have, they have tremendous talent in the secondary and if they can start to get to the passer and stay athletic on the edge (Kaepernick) the Defence could be top 15. Either way its Capers' ass on the line

he is the perfect fit at DE in their defense IMO.

Justin Pugh's reaction. He's an Eagles fan sadly but that will change fast.

Didn't know there this was this many Packers fans on here, good stuff. The Jones pick is solid. He fits their scheme perfectly. He should be the best D-End we have had in a while. I'm not too crazy about the linebacking situation either. Matthews is Matthews and Bishop coming back will be big but after that is pretty concerning. Hawk is painfully average and overpaid, resigning Jones was ok I guess but hes very average as well and after the San Fran. game in which he got completely embarrassed in, I'm not too high on him. Don't know why they relased D.J Smith, he had potential. I think we look for a linebacker in the mid rounds along with an RB and yea this year is it for Capers if they dont improve.

they got arguably the best defensive player in the draft and they STOLE the pick from Oakland. that pick should have cost at least another 2nd rounder according to the draft pick value chart. what a steal. tehy still have a 2nd and two 3rds as well
Don't know about him being the best defensive player in the draft. A lot of people were surprised when that trade happened. Gruden said he disappeared for long stretches and wasn't particularly noticeable a lot of the time. I admit I don't really know a whole lot about him but since I rarely payed attention to Oregon's defense so I might be ignorant about this.

They probably still have decisions to make on bringing back receivers (Edwards, Schillens), even though none of them are anything noteworthy. They still have Holmes, still have Kerley, they still used a 2nd rounder last year on a wide receiver (Stephen Hill), who was pretty raw and is a work in progress. This is in no way saying receiver is a strength, because its not, but unless they were to get whoever they felt was the prize at the position (I assume Austin if the Rams felt they had to leap frog the Jets to get him), they're better off waiting for a mid round pick to grab another one. There was a first round caliber tight end, but is it a big enough need for the team to bypass other needs for it? Debatable. No running backs were first round worthy apparently, and definitely not top 15 worthy, and really neither were any of the quarterbacks on the board. Seems like the 2nd pick was more of a 'best player available' according to their draft board, but that's not a bad thing when you have a ton of needs.

I wouldn't have had a problem with an offensive line player with the second pick. Going into the draft yesterday I wanted Milliner and a lineman (offensive, or a DT). Or if there weren't any really there, a pass rusher. But I'm content with how it ended up. Maybe with all of the offensive linemen that went off the board, the Jets felt that the ones still there weren't worth the pick and were just climbing up the board because of how many were going?

Jets have made calls today to multiple teams to try to move up from 39th spot in second round to draft QB. Debated Geno Smith at No. 13.

Sounds like Geno may be coming here

Gruden is absolutely terrible at evaluating draft prospects. most sites had Jordan as the best defensive player on their big board.

As against Geno Smith as I was yesterday, I wouldn't be nearly as unhappy with a QB in the 2nd/3rd rounds. Maybe I'm just an ass, but I wouldn't care if we end up with Smith or even Barkley depending on where. Trading up only potentially worries me because of what they'll end up giving up to move up a few spots. By the same token, I sometimes tend to root for what can piss off the most people. That may be why I'm so open to a QB this round...

Not sure if adding another USC QB is a good idea

That's exactly why I think I'm on board with the idea. Pisses off the most of my fellow Jets fans. That may give me more joy than it should. Like when the Jets traded for Tebow, and a handful of people I know were all miserable, I responded to each and every one with "**** yeah Tebow!" Not because I was so happy about the move or anything. But just because no one else was. Maybe I'm a bit sadistic when it comes to this team. But seriously, Barkley wouldn't be a terrible pick depending on when/where. Its not like we're talking about using a top 15 pick on him. He could be worth a flyer for a mid-round pick.

Dion Jordan is very much a lean thoroughbred. His game doesn't translate well inside. I'm not sure you use a #3 pick on a potential pass rush specialist who could be a liability on early downs.

what are you basing this on? he is not just a specialist. right NOW in the NFL he might be but that isnt what he projects to be.

Rodgers sign's extension. 5 yrs. $110 million according to Rappaport. Flacco's run as the highest paid player in history last's about 2 months lol.

Seems like a year to throw the value chart out the window. I was surprised by the New England/Minnesota trade. Ditto with Dallas only getting a 3rd to move down to #31.

-------------------

This seems like the first year I was able to enjoy the draft since 2009. In 2010, Devils were in an elimination game against the Flyers. Recorded the draft to watch afterwards, but had parts of it spoiled for me (namely the Chargers trading up). Last year, draft night was going against Devils/Panthers game 7.

I'm a little underwhelmed with Fluker at #11. He should help the porous O-Line, but it just felt like a reach for a need. Obviously easier said than done, but I would have been happier to trade down and get an extra pick.

Thrilled the 9ers traded up for Reid and was really hoping though I knew it was unlikely that Eifert would fall to 34.. oh well. 9ers probably take the highest TE on the board @34 tonight
