Because he was told that he would remain on Sid's wing.

Because he has earned that spot, possibly more so than anyone else on the team has earned their spot.

I'm sure he'd understand

"Ok Duper, here's the situation. You are a great compliment for Sid and Iginla. But we feel you are being underutilized being put into a 3rd wheel type role. We want you to be the guy that really runs the third line. You could play on Sid's line. You could play on Geno's line. That third line is lacking some identity. We want it to be Duper's line. Now get out there and make **** happen."

I have a feeling Morrow and Dupers will be moving around a lot in the line up during the playoffs. They are the best forecheckers on the team in terms of players with skill. Every line plays better with them and every line suffers without them.

Honestly, I'd like to try a line with Malkin, Morrow, and Bennett. Makes Geno the focus, he plays better when he is the focus, and leaves so many options for other lines.

That's pretty much how the conversation should go. He's not being punished by being moved "down", but it's a testament to his play that every line he's on simply works. While the line he's vacating MAY be slightly weakened, he strengthens the third line immeasurably, thus making the team better overall for the Cup run.

Personally, I'd but Juice in Cooke's place with Morrow and Sutter, and move Cookie down with Adams and Beauner. Preferably it would be with Vitale and Beauner, but I know that's asking too much.

Hope they put something together for Staal's 1st game in Pittsburgh since the trade. At least a nice ovation or something.

Neal only seems to get work done on the scoresheet if matched with Malkin. He will be attached to him at the hip for the duration.

Absolutely. All he would need to hear is that the move makes us the best possible team.

I still think it sucks for the guy, but he's a team first type and a professional; and I'm positive it wouldn't be an issue.

The other poster was just blowing my comment out of proportion.

you don't learn to handle the face wash until you've sat in a press box 412 times. Why do you think Crosby gets injured so much? Still has about 300 sittings to go before he's man enough.

Staal should hang around and give the shirt off of his back. It would be a cool gesture

And people who think Dupuis will mind which line he is on are nuts. Just realize that Jokinen and Morrow have each been putting up nearly PPG averages since coming to the Pens. That is the company you share in a Pittsburgh third line.

It's a good problem to have.

That goal was so ****ing huge. I remember the moment that (Orpik?) took the penalty and I thought to myself "****ing eh...these games all go the same way." And I thought we were done. Down 3-1 again and the Red Wings just eat away at the series.

Then.... like magic. That goal changed everything.

I support as many shirtless players as possible to ring in the playoffs

God I remember that like it was yesterday. Sitting there watching it with my brother saying... great this is about to be over... then boom from gloom to insane joy in an instant.

Seriously.. those games had such a story to them. If you made a mistake against either team, you were going to regret it. The 08 Red Wings and the 09 Pens were unreal when it came to making teams pay.

So when we were down 2-1 to that Red Wing PP...I just knew we'd be down 3-1 in the game and never get back. It's just amazing. I could re-watch that game right now and still have nerves.

I'm tired of watching Geno try to land all of his crafts on planet Neal. Same thing goes with Iggy Pop right now. Give Geno the dogged veteran and the creative kid and watch him put on a show. He's at his best when he has to be the man, he defers too readily.

A first line of Neal, Iginla, and Crosby might be intriguing. Also means a third line of Kunitz, Sutter, Dupers

Whether it is with Crosby or Malkin, Iggy and Neal should NEVER be on the same line.

yeah, if one thing is clear so far, it's that Iggy and Neal are both best as RIGHT WINGS. In fact, they are only right wings. And since our other top 9 talent all seem capable of swapping sides at will, let's let them play their preferred side.

If you were playing an accurately depicted video game and you tried to switch Iggy or Neal over to LW, their player rating would instantly drop 10 points.
