I don't even know if Yan-Pavel Laplante is overrated, underrated or what. I just feel like from a couple WU-18 games, acknowledging that is a small sample, I kinda like him and wonder if he fits the darkhorse criteria?
I'll say Pavel Buchnevich. I see a future #1C. Also agree with Dillon Heatherington. I generally dislike drafting defensive defensemen in the first round, but I really like what I see from Heatherington.
Someone that might not be a top 2 rounds but a later pick is Remi Elie of the Knights.
The kid improved his skating vastly in a year, big shot, and the biggest thing is he's a puck magnant. The kid is always all over the pucks and isn't afraid to get his nose dirty. There's a ton of untapped potentional because of who he is playing behind in London. Elie has been good enough in the playoffs to force himself into top 6 minutes at important times in games.
