I know many people here don't like St Croix, but the kid has 18 points in 13 games played in this years playoffs including 7 goals. Excited to see what he can do at the next level.

Check this out. Towards the end of the fight you see #8 in red standing in the middle with no one going near him. He starts pushing people around and no one will go with him. Bench clearing brawl and no one wants a piece of him.

Know who that is? Samuel Noreau...

Ha, biggest boy on the block, everyone pair up before he grabs someone

Well, that'll all change when he gets to the Pro's, but yeah, he's a big fella.

Impressive.

At one point he's staring down 4 or 5 guys from the other team. Kid must be a monster.

Wow, good find. That's hilarious. He pushes a few people around, taps some ankles and nobody even gets in his face about it.

Noreau is arguably the top heavyweight in the Q. When watching him he actually reminds me of Dave Brown, for anyone around long enough to know who Dave Brown is. He a big lefty, who can get off the rapid fire punches. Tough to scrap with a. Big guy that has quick hands. In addition it appears that Noreau has a bit if a mean streak in him. Looking forward to what the future will bring with him.

I don't think there's any question he's tops in the Q. Maybe in the entire CHL. He will do damage in the A next year, especially against the younger heavies.

Is Noreau supposed to be an enforcer or a Prust like player? Tough as balls and can play?

Enforcer. He's shown some offensive skills this season as an older player, but nothing that would make me believe he would bring a lick of offense at the NHL. Maybe some points in the AHL.

MSC had a goal in his teams 5-1 win over Calgary tonight. His team is one win away from going to the WHL championship.

Cairns and Carkner are definitely good examples. If you watch his scraps which almost off of them are on YouTube he is clearly a different type of fighter than McIlrath. Not that he's a better fighter, but he definitely looks to get off quicker and fires away using his reach. In a few of his fights he get nailed pretty good. He definitely has a good chin to go with the mean streak. Once he adds muscle and matures I think that he is going to be one of those guys that nobody wants to tangle with.

Not certain that Noreau has the skating for the NHL level. Guess we will see when he turns pro next season.

You know he's a dman, right? He doesn't need to put up points.

I haven't watched him since Traverse City 2 years ago, but I thought he looked very good in that tournament, and there are have been some good reports on him since then.

He's definitely an enforcer.

His first pass has gotten better, as has his positioning. If he can skate enough to play at the NHL level, he'll be a nasty, crease clearing defender. Like a bigger Deryk Engelland or Sheldon Brookbank. If his skating is insufficient, he'll be Stu Bickel.

And for my money, he's the best fighter in the entirety of the CHL. His fights have been decreasing in frequency over the past three seasons, and it's not because he's unwilling--guys just want nothing at all to do with him.

EDIT: I use Drop Your Gloves rather than Hockey Fights. Here's his card: http://dropyourgloves.com/fights/Fig...x?P=57802&L=20

We have three prospects still playing in the playoffs.

Tommy Hughes and London are into the OHL finals. Barrie and Belleville play tonight to determine the other finalist. Hughes has one assist in 13 games, and is +9 with 13PIM.

Sammy Noreau is onto the finals with Baie-Comeau. They'll play a loaded Halifax team. Drouin, MacKinnon, Frk, and a bunch of talented undersized guys. They're the prohibitive favorites, though Baie-Comeau had a great year as well. Noreau's line: 10GP, 1G/1A/2P, +2 with 8PIM.

Last but not least, Edmonton and Michael St. Croix are looking to head into the finals for the second consecutive year. They have a game seven against Calgary tomorrow night. If they win, they're in the finals against Portland, who the beat in seven games one year ago. St. Croix has been great: in 15 games, he has a line of 8G/12A/20P with a +13 and 10PIM. For reference, last season he played 20 games and recorded 19 points.

Shane McColgan and Josh Nicholls will play in the Memorial Cup starting in mid-May. Saskatoon had a good regular season, but was swept in the first round by Medicine Hat (who in turn were swept by Edmonton). Saskatoon is in the Memorial Cup as the host team.

Barrie won last night, so it's London and Tommy Hughes against the Colts in the finals. Hughes will have his hands full, trying to shut down Mark Scheifele and Andreas Athanasiou. Series starts Friday.

I've been to all the Knights home games so far and Hughes has been looking really great. He is so steady defensively and they have been using him in a shut down role so far. Little to no offensive upside, but he is looking like he could have the tools to be a good defender in this league.
