Half the game, maybe the entire game. Who knows.

Blues dont have the problem of having to rest their stars... They dont have any. That's one perk of not having anyone who can score consistently at or around a PPG.

Silver linings...

We're going to get the Kings unless that godawful Sharks team who is extra godawful on the road goes into 18-4-1 LA and pulls out a miracle win. Night and day between the quality of these two teams. They have a strange ability to play close games against each other because they're division rivals but anyone who doesn't discern between the toughness of a potential San Jose matchup versus the toughness of a potential LA matchup literally has no feel for just plain old watching games.

But I hope they don't. I don't want to face some scrubs who want to make a bid for some playoff games and take permanent runs at our best guys

I see that Canucks Goalie Cory Schneider will miss their final regular-season home game because of an unspecified injury, interesting.

I just watched one of the funniest things ever, Minnesota getting blown out at home against a hideous Oiler team in a must win game for the Wild. Holy crap that team is bad.

Lol if they miss the playoffs. How do you love with a top line of Parise-Koivu-Pomminville?

I really hope it happens. Their fans are about as obnoxious as can be. I'd honestly rather see the Wild miss more than the Wings.

Wild just scored. Detroit just scored. Both 1-0 in the first. Two losses by the Senators would mean our first pick is 45th. They're trailing 1-0 and play in Boston (Marathon makeup) tomorrow.

However, I kinda hope NYR gets 7th and Detroit loses. Then it's probably CHI-DET, MTL/BOS-TOR, MTL/BOS-NYR. Original Six.

Man, I kinda thought it sucked being a Blues fan. Must really suck being a Leafs fan right now.

find it funny that a Leafs homer made a thread on the main boards claiming Reimer is a top 5 goalie in the NHL. I know every fanbase has idiots, but those guys really make me want to see their team lose.

Odd, only second round, and all teams that I even remotely like are gone. I could care less who wins now. Blues, obviously, Ducks, Caps, Canadians, Islanders. I guess I'm rooting against teams (CHI, DET and NY mainly) opposed to rooting for anyone.

Just wanted to say that playing the Sharks is a complete breath of fresh air after playing the Blues. You guys are really freakin' scary. I can see the Blues making a good run for it all as soon as they develop their forwards/scoring more, or add an offensive guy or two. Won't be long, and you have the youth to stay competitive for a long while. Not looking forward to playing again in the future. Good luck to you guys.

Thank ya, and good luck to you guys from here on in. Partial selfish reasons, though. I can't imagine anything more likely to lite a fire under us then if you guys win everything. Having to look themselves in the mirror, realizing that if you won everything, chances are they could have done the same.

Listening to Joe Thornton attempt to justify blatantly dirty hits by either he and or his teammates 100% of the time is one of the more nauseating things I have to deal with throughout the course of a season.

He's a ******. And I hate that team. Go Kings.

I prefer the Kings too. I just think they work harder. Maybe because they are like us. I am liking their fanbase too, they seem respectable for the most part. Would like to see them destroy the Blackhawks in the final, and I think only they can do it. Sharks are way too weak for Chicago.

Wow, I do want Kings to win but I feel like Sharks got a little screwed at the end of that game with the 5 on 3. I know the fans must feel pretty defeated.

Hard to definitively tell from the replay but it looked like the puck spun too much for Vlasic to lift that over the glass without it nicking Carter's shoulder.

Nevertheless, good teams take advantage of breaks.

I think the over-the-glass rule has outlived its usefulness. Or it at least needs to be amended for the referees to have the authority to make the determination if the player did it intentionally or not. This would be the rare judgement call that would be fairly straight forward.

Horrible way to end a great game. Not sure if the puck hit Carter and went out, or it went out clean, but I am of the belief that it shouldn't be a penalty anyway. Just such a stupid penalty. I say treat it like an icing, since it's essentially the same thing. Offending team can't change, faceoff stays in the zone. Feels like that's enough punishment.

Yeah I couldn't tell either - but I agree with both of you that the call shouldn't be a penalty either, it's always annoyed the crap out of me. Still, at least to have it amended, that would be helpful as mentioned too.

Man I really thought it was going to overtime LOL. I would have liked that better I think, sure I liked a Kings win but quite like that. I was ALL ready for a long, hard-fought, gritty, borderline "dirty" OT, maybe even 2OT, but noooo. Didn't want the excitement to end.

Guess it seemed anti-climatic and a bit of a let down.

I thought it hit Carter on the first replay but I decided that losing in a more unfair way would far more awesome for that franchise. Never forgetting Perron and Courtnall and that's just the way it is. Awesome way to see the Sharks lose!!
