Flames clinch top 6 spot in lottery. Good for their fans, if they can get a Monahan out of that year of hell, that's still solid.
For us, woot! 2 picks in the first 6 of round 2.
And if CAR can get just 1 point tomorrow against a Pens team that has nothing to play for, 2 picks in the top 5 of round 2.
And position for position.....I guess it's also better to see TBay winning and Nashville losing. Or even just 1 point for TBay while Nashville loses and we move up with the Nashville pick. We need some help from Carolina though. 'Cause things can change, let say with a Nashville win.
Can't believe I'll say this...but thanks to Gauthier for that. Never been as excited for a draft.....The next GM though that will give me 2 or 3 1st rounders well then.....I'll marry him..
I like how Yakupov is best all around rookie in 2nd half ,,, The guy plays very little defense
Wow evidence that you don't watch the Oilers very much, if at all.
The kids defense has come a long way. And his impact from game to game is getting better as the season goes on. Even when he isn't getting points he competes and gives an all out effort. It's pretty pathetic reading some of these comments. Yak is good. So is Gally. Be happy. If Yak is better than Gally or vice-a-versa it doesn't mean the other player was a bad pick. They can both be fantastic picks.
And I'll be the first person to admit that if I had a vote for Calder I would vote for Gallagher because I think he has made the most impact of any rookie. And his contributions can't be measured just by points.
If the Wilds were to miss the post season... does that help Subban alot? I hope so.
Who's the last D that won the norris with a team that didn't make the PO
Good point. I think Subban has the upper hand on Suter if these votes are coming from a completely unbiased POV, but Letang has recently climbed back into heavy consideration during our slump. Not that I care about the Norris more than the team winning in the playoffs, but I think Subban deserves it big time for all the **** he's had to put up with. Who gets the most boos in opposing rinks? That should settle it.
Of course, can't count out Karlsson. It's amazing how every play by play person (been watching a lot of gamecenter and even when Ott is not one of the teams, this happens) has the same cookie cutter things to say about Karlsson - it's almost like CBC performed some Inception. I never hear the same things about Subban and honestly, in terms of entertainment (which is the #1 thing I hear about Karlsson), Subban is FARRR more entertaining on the ice (forget off the ice, not even close, but obviously that's irrelevant).
Whichever of the top seeds get the Rangers in round 1 will have their hands full.
I think every series will be tight in the East. Even if it ends in a sweep, I believe all games will be close.
NYR are riding a hot keeper and seem to have adjusted.
Ottawa just got Anderson and Karlsson back.
NYI are making their return to POs and have one of the best players in the NHL carrying them.
Leafs have been riding an incredible shooting percentage all season, if it continues through playoffs, they'll be very frustrating to play against.
Mtl have been solid all year, what was once their weakness is now a big strength, depth.
Washington has been one of the best teams in the NHL for a good little while now with the hottest player in the league.
Boston is Boston, almost the same team to have won the cup just a couple years ago.
Pittsburgh is filled with talent, they've been winning without Malkin, Crosby, Letang and Martin, so adding those guys to the current roster is just nuts.
Pittsburgh is a clear favorite to win the East, but every series will be tight. I actually think the Leafs are the weakest team of them all, but I could easily be wrong. I just don't think they're for real.
