I see his Dad went to Canisius College in Buffalo. Is his dad from Canada or the US?

Local guy who was doing very well in the 2nd half of the season in the OHL and if he bulks up, he could become very good.
I agree. I don't think we should pass up one of those guys, it would really bring so much more depth at D. Lodge would be great if he's available, unless a potential 1st drops into the 2nd round. I hope at some point in one of the later rounds they give TVR a look. He's been to Flyers training camp before and he seems to be coming along well, but he's finishing college first. Righty shot too, a couple years from now he could be a nice player for us.

SovSport: Nichushkin deal was struck by Dinamo's owner Rotenberg and Chelyabinsk governor Yurevich at a meeting in Sochi hosted by Putin
Quote:
SovSport is now reporting Nichushkin is so upset about being traded to Dinamo wo his knowledge, he is leaning toward America *this* summer

SovSport: "Source close to Nichushkin says Valery, having found out about the trade, decided to stay in the NHL after draft"

Rus media reports Nichushkin loses his cool after the loss to USA, curses at the reporters as he pushes his way out

So that's the latest on Nuchishkin. It's looks like he's going to try his hardest to come over this summer. Whether he actually he does or not is still unclear at this point. So he may still fall.

All I can gather from this is the KHL continues to show it shadiness with handling business. I would be pissed off if Obama got involved with a sports league over here like that. President's of large countries like the US and Russia should have better things to do than stuff like that.

Eh. TVR is probably not going to get drafted I imagine. He's been draft eligible for the past two years IIRC and no one showed any interest. Not even sure if he is still draft eligible. Maybe a UFA college guy at some point, but if he wasn't JvR's brother, no one would know who he was.

He's not. Too old.

Russian media: Valery Nichushkin was traded 2 Dynamo for $10mil w/o his knowledge. Can trigger VN decision 2 leave 2 NHL.
Re-tweeted by Button. If this is true and he does come over, he is a top 5 pick. Can't see him falling if he is coming over to the NHL.

That could help us out if he indeed gets all that stuff taken care of before the draft and assuming we pick 8th.

I doubt it, we're in 9th now and he's easily a top 5/6 guy.

I was implying the possibly of Nurse falling to us. Nichuskin being a good bet to come over easily guarantees he'll be a top 5 pick.

Ohh, alright. I can still see Nurse going right after Nichushkin and Barkov though. But I think it definitely gives us a better shot at Nurse and a sure shot at Risto or Z. Really as long as we come out with a good d-man I'll be happy, either of those 3 will give us what we need.

Great win for the Sabres and for us....if we can hold onto 8th, we have a real shot at Darnell....or at the very least, something very solid!

The Flyers can currently draft no higher than 8th. If they win tomorrow, they can drop as low as 13th.

probably will. that would put them over .500 so you know the team is gonna be playing hard. combined that with the fact that Mason will probably be in net and this AHL defense is actually playing way better then expected i also expect a win.

ugh!

What is the damn point......I mean I understand the pride thing but there is such a thing as "stupid" pride. They need to lose to win.....

Yeah - the difference between drafting 8th and 13th is huge. I'd be playing an entire AHL roster, who would probably end up winning.

They will win tomorrow even if they bring in a bad college goalie on an ATO and give Rosehill 25 minutes at 1C.

Our luck, Rosie gets the hattie in a 6-0 shutout. NoName goalie stands on his head, Konan scores and Akeson gets two.

Our best hope is that Ottawa is motivated to beat us, and potentially catch the Isles and even the Leafs, if the Buds lose to Montreal.

Ottawa should be motivated on Saturday. They likely want to avoid Pittsburgh and they have a tough game in Boston on Sunday.
