Or do you just tell him to stay home, rehab properly and come back next fall as good as he was before he went down?

Seems like a no brainer to me.
Doctors cleared him, what else do you want?

But yet again HF is playing doctor.

Yeah well because a lot of these teams make poor decisions. Rightfully so they are paying these athletes millions of dollars but you think they'd treat them as more of asset than a worker.

RNH clearly had shoulder problems for a while and was cleared by doctors to play. Why the hell did it take to the end of the season to send him for surgery? Like Kruger said sending him now means they get him back a week earlier next season. Well sending him another week or two earlier would ahve made it that much sooner as well.

I knew that this would be the endgame for the Oilers' "re-build," but no, I kept getting told that in the end talent always wins out. That's been proven to be patently wrong.
Alright so how do we get this world class goaltending. Hell who is this world class goaltenders?

Picking top notch goaltending in this league is impossible most of the goalies seem to be headcases. Hell the Leafs just made the friggen playoffs with Reimer and Scrivens. Buffalo is failing hard with the graces of Miller who was once seen as a top 5 goalie. Calgary hasn't done much with Kipper over the last 5 years.

After Lundquist & Rinne there aren't many goalies that teams can count on in this league. But look at the Rags they are barely hanging onto a playoff spot. Hell look at Chicago they have Crawford and Emery.

So not sure what you're going on about but the fact is its who can build the most complete team in today's NHL. Even though we have offensive palyers we have large holes everywhere from forwards to defense to goaltending.

Because it's not always cut and dry. In both cases the player had a big say.

Gregor talked about it on his show a couple weeks ago how he figured that RNH and his agent didn't want surgery this year because they wanted the Hall/Eberle contract now. The worry is he misses this year comes back and isn't the same player. Could cost the player millions.

Could cost them millions if his shoulder seperates and it becomes a longer rehab followed by a piss poor season. Funny how that logic works.

These JA's need to realize that if they are a good athlete the rehabing willt ake care of itself as theyve already learnt the skill to suceed. But it's fair today's world is only concerned about that big paycheque.

I don't know what the other Masterton nominees are, but have to think Karlsson should win it now. Seen a few people such it on twitter and seems right to me.

Has he played any games since January? *Edit nope

Hopefully he gets back into form and I'm all for him winning the thing, but it's gonna take more than 60 shots at the beginning of the season.

Since the middle of March Ovechkin has 23 goals in his last 22 games. Unreal.

Roger Millions interviews Jay Feaster during Flames intermission and asks, "How big an Oil change will it be?"

Fail.

Columbus with the empty netter.

Good for them.

edit: You have to think Minny is in. They only need one win against either us or Colorado.

It's going to come down to the final game for Columbus and Detroit.

Detroit loses in regulation + Columbus win = Columbus in

Imagine the feeling of nausea, being a #Lumbus player and realizing your playoff hopes may hinge on the Oilers winning a hockey game.
Ouch.

Given that the Wild play the Avs after this, I'd say the more plausible scenario is to leapfrog Detroit.

Man, John Tavares is on a similar pace points wise this year but he's blowing away his goal total from last season. He has 28 in 47 games. Last year he had 31 in 82.

I really, really don't want the Leafs/Habs to meet in the first round. Not only would that mean one would go to round 2, but the Canadian media will be slobbering all over the series.

On the other hand, it guarantees that one fan base will be absolutely heartbroken

Also means that one team who has no business seeing the second round will end up there anyways.
