Great story. Sounds pretty good for a 4th Round Pick.

Can Kamloops extend the series or does Portland seal the deal tonight?

Oil Kings up 2-0 after 20 minutes in game 5 of a tied 2-2 series. Gernat and Samuelsson were the goal scorers.

Woop!

Travis Ewanyk added another one that I didn't see. 3-0 Oil Kings. *

Also anyone see that QMJHL Bench Brawling fight? Both teams Starting and Backup Goalies were given Suspensions so the 3rd and 4th string goalies are playing, lol. Crazy.

Michael St. Croix makes it 4-0 Oil Kings! And then the Hitmen Coach, Williamson spazzes like the fool he is. That Ewanyk hit on Macek was fair. And it's payback for Thrower's hit on Lazar. Hitting is in the game of the Hockey. You have the puck, expect to be hit. Stop crying you Babies.

Oil Kings prevail and get a 5-1 win. Now lead the Best of 7 East Final 3-2. Game 6 goes on Sunday, in an Afternoon Tilt. We can wrap it up there. Let's do so! Great job boys!

How do you guys feel Portland (the projected winner of the dub) will fair against Hali and London?

Looking to far ahead. Will come out to bite you.

Go Oil Kings!!!!!!!!

Halifax looks deadly, but part of me thinks the Oil Kings could beat them in the long run with all our Experience and Veterans. IDK if it's just stereotypical of me to assume Halifax is young but it's just one way I see it. I don't know much about London other than There goalie, Zadorov, Domi and the Ruperts. They look pretty good though.

I shouldn't have looked past Edmonton. It is just there is talk about the big three already (London, Halifax, and Portland).

Hali isnt that young, just their stars are. If you can knock them around, forcheck, and play defense they are beatable. Shutdown Mackinnon and 80% of their offense is done (Drouin can't handle physical teams)

London, from what I have heard, is just as defensively talented as Portland or any other team in the CHL and also led the OHL in scoring. They have some injuries but are a well coached team that is always tough to beat. London will probably be the youngest team in the tournament as next year is the year they have really been building for.

Oh, lol. Well anything can happen. That has been shown forsure.

Ah, I see. I like Drouin more than MacKinnon.

Ah, good to know. I know Portland well but down know much about London.

I would love for nothing more than to see the Winter Hawks fall short again. Go Oil Kings/Hitmen!

Wow

Don't look too far ahead is right.

Last couple of posts act like Edmonton and Portland are already in the final.

Hitmen are 7 - 1 on home ice in the playoffs folks.

Go Hitmen!

Maybe so but that ***1*** loss came by the Hands of the said Oil Kings. If anyone can do it the Oil Kings can!

And these convincing scores are making it a bit easier to say the series is over. But I do expect a hard fight on Sunday but I just know the Oil Kings will win.

Portland's evolved into a more disciplined team in these playoffs. They clearly didn't take long to get into Kamloops' collective heads.

When Edmonton was here in February, the Winterhawks made the most of chances in the first two periods (including Leier's goal that I'm still not sure how it got in) and then the Oil Kings completely locked down the blue line in the 3rd. It is- or was- possible for Edmonton to get overconfident given that game and the adjustments the Hawks have made at the end of March... except the injuries perhaps, unfortunately, change a few things.

The Kings have gotten a massive wakeup call against the Hitmen. In games 1 and 3 they assumed they could coast their way to victory on the basis of their talent, which is simply not the case. I am pretty sure that they recognize that the same level of intensity they brought to those early games will not cut it against Portland should they meet them in the final by winning one of the final two games.

In regards to the injury to Reinhart, so far it has not been a problem against the Hitmen, though Portland is certainly deeper offensively than Calgary. Guys that were scratches earlier in the playoffs like Ashton Sautner and Stephen (?) Shmoorkoff have played well.

I have to agree. Eberle had an NHL caliber shot when he was in Junior. I hope the Oilers or Sens get Lazar.
