So pumped for tomorow, cant even sleep jeez.

I pray to god we beat the **** out of them and somehow make it alive without a player injuried by their cheap ass goon squad.

Wish we finish 2nd so Bruins and Laffs beat each other up. Would much rather face one of them New York teams.

We can clinch second place today with a win combined with a Boston regulation loss.

No if Boston can get a point sunday or if they win tomorrow, we're stuck in 4th.

It is a great great idea. It'd be another symbol of why this city bleeds Blue and White.

I hate the Bruins, but I love to hate them. I can respect them when they beat us and I'm proud when we beat them. The Leafs? I have no respect for them, its different as a result. I'm angry when they beat us (most of their wins against us have BS written all over for a reason or another) and beating them has been ''expected'' most of the time in the past decade so there is no glory. There is also the fan aspect, Leafs fans are mostly bandwagonners and annoying as hell in victory and defeat. Boston fans can be obnoxious at times (obviously Habs fans can

beU as well, my own post is slightly obnoxious ) but at least they are entertaining and many of them are very knowledgeable. In fact most of the rivalry is in good fun between the fans and I love it.

In short - I hope the Leafs crawl back to the bottom of the standings, were they belong, and let the decent teams like Montreal and Boston fight for glory. Leafs are a bunch of parvenu benefiting like no others from playing a short season. If it were 82 games they'd likely manage to miss the playoffs as they do every year in normal circumstances.
Just fyi....the team you absolutely hate to lose to is your true rival, not the team you respect for beating you.

Well actually our ROW is 25 and Boston is 24 so if we win in shootout tomorrow Boston can clinch with a regulation win Sunday. I thought that Boston had more regulation + overtime wins than us.

Nope if we win today Boston needs 3/4 points we hold the tie breaker in both ROW and the season series.

After the Wild's implosion, PK needs to reclaim Norris voting. Add a hattrick to his resume and that should about do it.

I must say that the town was extatic with People blowing horns in the streets and everybody being happy.

Not sure it will happen this time around but whoever wins in first round should get support from the other side.

Of course, in the mean time, it is fair to bug each other.

One thing for sure, the best defense-goalie and special teams will determine the winner.
I don't know where you were in Toronto but anyone celebrating would have been Habs fans, not Leaf fans. There are many habs fans in Toronto.

Props for making me stop and think about this definition. Really, it carries some weight.

But then the part of my brain that makes metaphors out of everything kicks in and I come back to this: Hate isn't the same thing as rivalry. I can hate the guy who cut me off on the highway, but it's not a rivalry until he cuts me off every weekend for a year.

Hate can be immediate and intense; a rivalry grows and develops its own storyline over time. I've 'hated' the Bruins, its fans and its pizza, but over the years I've also respected and even liked some of them. It's a true rivalry because it's much richer than simple hate.

The Leafs? They've been irrelevant my whole life (and I'm no kid). Their team plays a dirty game that I dislike and some of their fans are among the most illiterate and obnoxious I've seen on this board (though like every fan base, a few are really cool). I may hate what I've seen of them, but sorry, they don't earn rivalry royalty with a character they discovered 12 weeks ago.

Like every story, true rivalries are about character development. Montreal/Boston is a Tolstoy novel. Montreal/Toronto is a "Transformers" movie trailer.

Don't watch allot of Habs or Leafs games, but I like it when you clash!

Here's REALLY hoping Eller makes good of his subtle little threat to Kadri on OTR.. I really want to see Kadri knocked down a bit

NOT a Habs fan, are you?

I mean - I can make a new fake account - leafsfanforever for example and post all kinds of nonsense over there. But I can't bring myself to do that - I'm a Habs fan. I try not to slag my team or put another team ahead of them, either.

this question might have been asked already but here we go again.
What happens if Boston loses both of their final two and we lose tonight?
Do we clinch second?

What are the chances Washington is even going to try versus Boston tonight? They got 3rd seed locked up, last game, no motivation. Have to hope Ovie wants to solidify his hart trophy chances.
