The only pick they both agreed on.

Only 4 other active players have scored at least 12 goals in their first 25 games. Selanne (18), Malkin (15), Ovie (15), and Crosby (12).

Interesting stat!

If he played with real first line players he'd easily be top 30 in scoring. I can really see top 20. His patience and vision is at an elite level. I watch a lot of games and I really don't see anyone other than the elite of the elite who have the same vision, patience, and offensive hockey IQ he has. We finally got ourselves a PPG player. I could see 100 points in his prime.

Agreed. And we've seen the scoring ability not be limited. One on one, off the rush, in the dirty areas, sniping, he beats the goalie in many different ways. It's great to see! He will be PPG, and boy do we need something to cheer for!

Does being on a terrible, non-playoff Panthers team weigh in on the Calder trophy voting? Meaning does Huby just automatically get screwed?

Won't be upset if he doesn't win Calder. It's an extremely tight race right now.

That being said, please score a hat trick tonight

Need to make a deal let St Louis get a hat trick for the scoring title and Bolts let Huby get one for the Calder.

honestly, i was concerned that huby was to small and not physical enough to play a full season. although a shortened season i'm pleasantly surprised. hopefully this is just a short glimpse of his long term talent and i'm rooting for him!!!!!!

Hub is 6'1. You're gonna cry if the Panthers draft Mack.

Yeah, looks like Yakupov is taking Calder after this hat trick.

Well, there goes the Calder. Yak scores a hat-trick with 4 minutes still left to play. He now has 17 goals.

Not necessarily, look at the top scorers this year, St. Louis, Crosby, Kane, Datsyuk, Ribeiro.... not overly tall or big players (with the exception of Crosby at 205 lbs)

i don't think you can give the calder based on the two last games. Might still go to Hubey

sure, but those ARE small. weight bases on length.

Height 5 ft 8 in (1.73 m)
Weight 180 lb (82 kg; 12 st 12 lb)

that's HEAVY for his length.

being tall and skinny isn't being "small" imo, you'll fill in and become big when you're a grown man

If Huber doesn't end up winning the Calder then I hope they give it to someone like Brodin instead of Yak.

Not necessarily. Yak had his hat trick in the last game of the season against the Canucks who were resting a lot of their players. Plus Hubs still had the same amount of pts as Yak so it's still up in the air if you ask me. Huberdeau was leading our team at lot more than Yakupov did on his team so it's very possible that will weigh favorably in Hubs favor. We just gotta wait & see now.
