Don't kid yourselves Hawks fans, P.Kane isn't on the same level as Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos or Ovie.

If I was Chicago, I'd take this deal and run.
So that's not why Kane is up for the Hart this year?

Both teams say no. Hawks won't break up chemistry and the Jets won't trade away two core pieces for one.

Patrick Kane is laughably underrated. Guys a superstar. Best offensive player in the western conference.

From Chicago's point of view, yes I'd do this in a heart beat. The downgrade from Kane to Kane is easily made up by Bogo's presence. But this makes absolutely zero sense from Winnipeg's perspective. They need more good young players - not less.

Absolutely god awful proposal.
Woof x 1,000

Terrible proposal from BOTH ends. Kane is the most talented player the Hawks ice every night, when he's on he's one of the few players in the league that opposing teams have absolutely NO answer for... and he's on a lot. Yes, Evander Kane is a fantastic young forward and Bogo is a good dman, but neither of them make up for the loss of Pat Kane.

And I am one of Kane's biggest critics. He's had an absolutely studly year... as soon as he slumps again you'll be hearing from me.

One year does not a trend make.

Same defensive core last year....and you could pretty much score at will on the Hawks.

Not trying to take away from what they have done this year...just pointing out that using 1 year as the reason you don't need an obvious D upgrade is silly.

Close I think, Chicago would need to add a little I think. Anyways just because a trade has good value doesn't mean it should be done so Chicago should say 100% no.

So you're saying you wouldn't take a physical 21 yr old who potted 30 last year, and who's signed for another 5 (after this year) at a good cap hit, and a 22 yr old big physical D who will likely be a top pairing D?

Yeah I get it... everyone hates getting better.

Preference to not getting back into cap hell and keeping the best player in the trade that makes our team much better.

Not that they play the same type of game. But...

Mike Richards: 121 games, 76 points, 173 hits
Ryan Getzlaf: 125 games, 104 points, 270 hits
Bobby Ryan: 127 games, 86 points, 191 hits
Anze Kopitar: 128 games, 117 points, 141 hits
Dustin Brown: 128 games, 83 points, 449 hits
Eric Staal: 129 games, 121 points, 82 hits
Shane Doan: 126 games, 76 points, 323 hits

Evander Kane: 122 games, 90 points, 318 hits

Looks like he's among the more physical forwards in the game. And still puts up points with the big boys. And he's still only 21.

Winnipeg needs a top 6 so they trade their top 1 winger + a top 4 dman for another winger? Makes sense. Although P. Kane is better than bogo and E. Kane this doesnt make sens for the jets. They need another winger and trading a winger + a dman for a winger doesnt solve their problems. This also doesnt make sens for chicago btw

Teams usually trade from a position of strength for a weakeness. This trade does the opposite of that

Yeah, I am. Would the Penguins trade Crosby for Kane + Seabrook? I mean, by your logic that IS an upgrade for them. Because 2 is better than a really ****ing good 1.

This looks like it was made by a Leafs fan :S

This is one Jets fan that fully agrees with your post.

News flash! 88 and 19 will finish their careers in Chicago like 21 and 35 did.

Why would we do this? Pat Kane is good...but definitely not THAT good.

And Toews is signing with us come contract time, no need for Kane

Yeah, Chicago would take both players. They wouldn't give up Kane to get them.

Clearly you don't get it, and it's not clear that Chicago would be better without the most talented player currently on their team. Kane carried whatever line he was on this year. That word is tossed around a lot, but that's the biggest reason why CHI fans want him to garner Hart consideration.

Kane's 3 most consistent linemates this year (Bolland, Sharp, J.Hayes) combined for 14 goals and 21 assists. Kane, by himself, put up 23 goals and 32 assists. Factoring only ES scoring, Kane put up 15 goals and 23 assists. His most consistent linemates (Bolland, Sharp, J.Hayes) combined for 12 goals and 14 assists.

Simply put, Kane's been unreal this year. He just doesn't get the respect he deserves.

Hmmmm....that surprises me because as a Winnipeg fan I think P Kane gets allot of respect. He is a dynamic talent that is really fun to watch play the game. I am not trolling I am legitimately curious outside the context of this thread give me a bit more information on what you mean? Is it on the Hawks board.....an HFBoards thing.....or do you mean in the real hockey world . I have always felt people are pretty high on him since there really aren't many legit year after year PPG type talents in this league anymore.
