Gelinas should be in for either Tally or Volch.

Lokti for Poni

Kinkaid for Moose

Not sure why Pete would pass up a no-pressure, no-risk chance to give both Urbom and Gelinas some more experience. But I'm no coach.

I'm actually hoping the Islanders end up 8th. I think they have the ability to, if not beat the Penguins, completely throw them off their game in a very entertaining manner. There's got to be some lingering bad blood between those teams. Let Boston crush the Rangers.

I don't think Boston would crush the Rangers. I think it would be the other way around IMO

Hopefully a final farewell to #1 and #28

No surprise Kinkaid won't play, I got crucified on this board for suggesting Pete had something personal against him, try to explain it otherwise.

young guys, vets, whatever......need guys in todays lineup that like to lay out the hurt.

its rare that these 2 teams play in 'meaningless' games. might as well tenderize their pansy ***** before they go to the playoffs.

this isnt lawn bowling. channel your inner 'luko on prucha' and mash em good and ripe!!!

Just plain out dumb to scratch Loktionov, Urbom and Gelinas. It's a stubborn, dumb and ridiculous decision.

At this point, to not reward some kids that have been playing their ass off the entire year in the AHL, and especially after how Gelinas looked in his debut. It's just dumb.

I'm starting to really question Lou's and DeBoer's decisions. I haven't liked one move they've made this year except acquiring Loktionov. But hey, he's a healthy scratch tonight.

Loktionov was one of the bright spots this season, let the kid play the final game you idiots!

Some of DeBoer's personnel decisions are just baffling sometimes. The rotations are based on something other than merit, but I have no idea what that is.

Jesus Christ people, the veterans have been in the league a long time and have earned better than to be scratched for the last game of the season. Calm the **** down.

Poni needs to play for a contract next season and unlike Urbom, PDB already stated that Gelinas looks NHL ready. These are 2 good reasons as why Loki and Gelinas don't really need to be in a game that is, without saying, preferable to lose.

I want to kill Pete but lets be real, we're not scratching Zajac or Henrique the last game of the year (especially since Adam already sat a game), and Lokti's not playing in Gio's fourth line role. Plus, it's more important to get Josefson another game with extended minutes anyway so there are your centers.

As far as the D, Tallinder had sat two games in a row, he had to play today. You could argue Volch/Harrold should sit but whatever. Urbom and Gelinas had their feet wet game, they ain't going to make next year's roster (or not) based on one more meaningless game anyway.

I've given up trying to figure out PdB's player moves. Maybe Lokti made some minor mistake last game and, thus, must be benched as a punishment, like we've seen throughout the season with the kids. I wasn't paying close enough attention last game. I'm hoping it's just for tanking purposes. But even so, wouldn't this game be good experience for the kids? Playing in a hostile environment, all sorts of nasty chants and signs ridiculing our predicament?

Whatever. Pete knows best, right?

Lol whatever I'm not getting mad at lineup decisions for the last game of the season that is meaningless. Pretty obvious Pete favors the veterans over youngsters. He's been that way all year. That might be a problem down the road becaus this team needs to get younger. Hopefully for a lot of these older players this is their swansong.

Yeah I forgot about Josefson too, he definitely needs more playing time in a meaningless game than a Loki who's been showing for 2 months that he's a legit NHL centerman.

NJDevs26's post is pretty spot on.
