Nfl net guy had good things to say about the saftey, said did not really look at him until late but was impressed by his first look, said he had him 7th but after watching tape moved him up.

I like him too! I thought he was drafted already. I liked him at the combine.

Right after I heard that I got a call that I had to take, so I don't have the context or even remember where I heard it but, wouldn't this kid being drafted possibly become a Mayo replacement?

I'm not sure about the scheme they use (or would use) just know they are both LB's.

Who knows how good he'll be, but this catch by one of their 2nd rounders impressed me;

Jamie Collins is a pass-rushing LB, who is something of an athletic freak. All-Pro kind of physical gifts, but needs to improve his fundamentals, instincts, and consistency.

Aaron Dobson is a big, strong receiver with excellent hands who's reportedly a good route runner, but not that fast. Stats, Inc. says Dobson did not record a single dropped ball last year.

Logan Ryan's a tall, physical corner who's supposed to be OK man-to-man, but very good in zone coverage, and a sure tackler.

Duron Harmon's a safety who was 1st Team All-Big East, but was viewed as mostly a later-round pick because of questions about his speed. Intangibles are supposedly off the charts, though.

sorry but I'm down for horrible picks on the face of it. This is an outrage Rutgers? I have zero trust in this guy picking secondary and wide receivers- I can not believe he passed on Allen and Wheaton.

I think Bill saw that great catch of Dobson, thought of Moss and Try Brown and the Marshall connection (probably loved the movie) and pulled the trigger.

horrible, horrible, horrible

I like the positions they drafted, but considering bill hasn't been able to put a defense together that can cover/get after the qb (neither area is very good)...

Not trolling, but how could you possibly know this?

I'm guessing he drafted defensive backs from Rutgers more because they were 14th in all of College Football in Total Defense last season.

C'mon, Dan.

I guess it depends on who you ask:

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/...l&player=42242

SUMMARY - Dobson has tremendous hand size and arm length to go with prototype size for the position at the NFL level. He is an exceptional athlete who displays outstanding speed, body control and balance. He is a legitimate vertical threat on every snap of the ball. He has rare hands and makes extremely difficult catches look easy, and he extends his long arms and plucks the ball away from his frame consistently. He has great reach and uses his body to shield defenders away from the ball. He is going to be a big red zone threat in the NFL. He has elite ability to track, locate and adjust to the ball in the air, especially down the field and in the end zone. He has great hand/eye coordination and does a masterful job of adjusting to poorly thrown balls. He can win against all types of coverage. Dobson won't explode off of the ball, but he does run crisp routes with the football IQ to quickly break off a route and sit into an open area. He has the strength and toughness to generate a lot of RAC yardage. He is not a consistent blocker in the running game, but he is willing and could benefit from NFL coaching in this area. Overall, he deserves second-round consideration because of his physical tools, red zone skills and ability to stretch the field. He looks a lot like a poor man's version of A.J. Green coming out of Georgia except that he lacks Green's explosiveness and top end play-making speed. He is a legitimate No. 1 WR prospect for the NFL level.

Didn't draft a DE/OLB to rush the passer?

Will they never learn?

That sounds like exactly what Collins should be if he pans out

Not to mention Rutgers' brutal schedule and the elite conference competition. Nevermind the Big East sucked, and they lost to the only ranked team they played and it was at home. Pretty sure lots of teams could put up good total defense numbers if they played a schedule that included Tulane, Howard, Temple, Army, UConn, basically everyone on their schedule with the exception of L'ville.

I hope you are being sarcastic?

The idea that BB does anything based on one highlight catch or because it's a nice story, is laughable. There were a lot of teams that could have used a WR that passed on Allen and Wheaton. I love Mayock and Kiper for the entertainment value, but the next time they work for a pro football franchise in a scouting capacity will be there first time.

The Honey Badger has a cool nickname, but he's what, 5'8", 177? Add to that his laundry list of off-field issues and he looks much less attractive than he previously did. Kevin Faulk was a football player who smoked the occasional joint, while HB seems like a pot smoker who likes to occasionally play football.

Glad NE passed on the guy.
