I have a ton of respect for guys like mcshay, kiper, mayock. They take what they do very seriously. Just because they don't work for one particular team doesn't mean they don't know their ****. They do their
homework.

I don't have a problem with not taking mathieu but he doesn't have a laundry list of issues. He has one off field issue. It's a big one but he ain't the first and won't be the last. Aaron hernandez had a weed problem coming out of florida.

The idea that BB does anything based on one highlight catch or because it's a nice story, is laughable. There were a lot of teams that could have used a WR that passed on Allen and Wheaton. I love Mayock and Kiper for the entertainment value, but the next time they work for a pro football franchise in a scouting capacity will be there first time.
I messed up my meds yesterday and took Over Reaction pills by mistake- I started with the 7th Player Award and ended up here.

Hey, I'm NOW sold on Dobson and Ryan. Dobson apparently (and confirmed by the tape Gator Mike provided) is if not the best one of the best red zone players in the draft. Greg Bedard did an article on his recall and overall football intelligence that had Bill not needing any viagra last night. I heard a couple of draftnik callers who actually sounded like they had a clue say the same about his ability to come down with everything. I'm sold.

I lied earlier (there's a surprise) the Rutgers CB was the one guy I had heard of and read up on- and I actually liked him, but I was still smarting from Allen not being drafted at WR. He was on with Zolak and Gresch and might be the single most impressive guy this side of Tom Brady in an interview. The scouting report says he can play Zone (not surprising because that is the area his former teammate McCourtey is best at and what Greg Schifano had them play at Rutgers it sounds like) and can stick to you in man. OK, like that pick as well.

The safety from Rutgers never heard and not sure about, the first rounder the OLB-attacker I am not biting yet but its early and I havent eaten any brownies yet so no sugar high.

Joe, cant remember if you wanted the Honey Badger, but no way Bill wants that guy near his kid Brian if you catch my da-rift

As I said, I love the draft guys, but I put more stock in the scouts from a team knowing how a player fits into their system than a guy judging him in a vacuum. When Kiper or McShay is wrong about a guy, we never hear about it and it's on to the next draft. When a team screws up a pick, they are reminded about it every day.

As far as I know Aaron Hernandez failed one drug test (admitted, others never substantiated). He passed his drug test at the combine and was open with NFL teams about his past drug use. Mathieu reportedly failed repeated drug tests (this is where the similarities to Hernandez ends) to the point where Les Miles kicked him off the team. How bad do you think it must have been for a player with his great production to get booted? He followed that up with a stint in rehab. If it had stopped after that, great, but then he gets arrested for possession last fall. Obviously, the guy got zero out of the whole experience. I consider failed test, dismissal from team, rehab, arrest after supposed rehab to be a "laundry list" of issues.

If the Pats wanted I take a flyer on him in the 7th like they did with Dennard, I would have been fine with it, but not where he was picked by ARI (69). Thought that was way too high, given his history.

Found a nice article on Beauharnais you guys might like. Seems like a great value pick and your prototypical "Patriots player".

People need to understand that when the Patriots make an "off the wall" pick or a pick that is a "reach", that they are one of only six teams that have their own scouting division.

Only six teams in the NFL have their own scouting departments, whereas the other twenty six use a scouting service where they share the same scouts and have the same information.

The Patriots, Colts, Ravens, Bears, Raiders, and Browns are the teams with their own scouts. Outside of the Browns and the Raiders (Al Davis had been making all of the final decisions), those teams have been damn good at drafting, and it's no coincidence they have their own scouts.

Meh, if he works out, great. Otherwise, no big deal. Not like he'll be any competition for Brady.

I don't mind bringing in Tebow as a camp body. There's over a 95% chance he doesn't make the team come September anyway (they should only carry 2 QB's again).

Yes he's a distraction, but possibly a good one...he'll be the most reported about player on that team untill he is cut, which means less talk about any new Offensive or Defensive schemes/packages/players (we all know how Bill loves to keep his plans top secret).

He's also a fiery competitor (some might say "winner") and maybe he can be a good leader/role model for a lot of those younger guys. Maybe he can talk Gronk into not being such a knucklehead anymore? Maybe he lights a bit of a fire under Malletts ass...maybe he gets cut in a week or two.

Never know with Bill, but there really aren't any negatives to this that I see. He won't be guaranteed any money or a roster spot and if he's too big of a distraction/liability, he will be out of New England in no time.

He'll be some kind of FB/TE and may run a wildcat. If it works in camp/preseason, he'll get a spot. If not, no big loss, cut him.

Mallett is a better QB than him at this point and it isn't even close, so he's not going to throw a ball for this team unless it's some kind of option/gadget play.

I think we just need big bodies in camp while Gronk recovers from his gangrenous arm. It'll probably be amputated to the elbow by the time he's ready to play, and he'll still be better than 95% of the league.

Tebow want to be a QB. And that is exactally what he will be on our team. #3 QB. Nothing else. Not RB...Not TE
