In the East:
I'm up in the air with Montreal and Boston on who I would rather want in the #2 spot. Hope to avoid either team. Both are very dangerous and would be an extremely difficult series.
Hope Ottawa loses so Rangers get the Caps. I'm sick of playing them in the playoffs, but it's probably the best matchup for us.
In the West:
Definitely rooting for the Blue Jackets to make it.
Would rather see Red Wings make it than Minnesota. As cool as it was to see Parise screw over the Devils, I would just hate to have a playoffs that didn't include Pavel Datsyuk. He's one of my favorite players to watch.
I'm on the fence with Gorton. He seems to have made a ton of great decisions, but he also seems to hung up on size and physical gifts which I don't agree with at all.
Neither Stepan nor Zuccarello are Gorton-type players, and they have both been huge parts of the Rangers great end to the season.
I may be way off; but I get the feeling that Gorton would want to sign Clowe and Clarkson only to let Zucc go, which would be a terrible decision.
Even a premier player of that type like Milan Lucic has to be put in the right environment to succeed, and even then is quite inconsistent. Smart players like Step and Zucc can succeed no matter what. Bergeron, Krejci, and Marchand are the heart of Boston's forward corps, not Lucic and Horton.
