Come on 101, we are virtually assured of receiving our overhyped messiah, what could be more exciting?
Parading a big silver trophy through downtown this July. Sadly, whomever we pick probably gets overhyped and likely doomed to Legwand like expectations and pressures over his career.
We managed to lose another forward to an injury when SK got his knee bent the wrong way along the boards ... the story of the season. When looking at our starting 18 skaters from game 1, how many made it through the season relatively healthy? Our emerging scorers (Wilson and Bourque) went down weeks ago. Fisher missed a chunk. Hornqvist and Goose out for a while. Halischuk last game and SK tonight. We passed decimated a long time ago.
At least the boys didn't roll over and die. Mason played his butt off yet again. 24 shots faced in the 3rd period alone .... 46 total. Blum cheated on his shot total in the first around the net ... 3 official shots for the game? Clune kept up his style of play ... Forsberg creating several quality chances ... Smith with a couple decent looks.
Now to hope for a fortuitous ping pong ball on Monday night.
Josi stepped in and looked great this season.
Weber was still Weber, without Suter.
Wilson looked great to start the season
Bourque looked better than any thought he would
Beck looked like he's going to be a true legit big powerful winger for us
Forsberg has some skill
Klein finally gets it and played his best season by far.
Clune is a more offensive but less physical Tootoo but still fills that void well.
So many positives, let's hope this offseason bucks the trend of bad offseasons for us, we've paid our dues the last 6 or so
like I said earlier... It was a devils choice between seeing the Wild or the Jackets miss... would have savored the Wild missing more but the Jackets missing is still pretty sweet.... they can now exit our division and our conference having never won a playoff game....
