2nd round, and that might be a bit of a reach with the constant blown leads

This team is going nowhere. Used to have an identity of when having a lead, you weren't coming back. That identity is shattered. We have become a soft team and that's on the players.

Our D is suspect
Our goaltending is good, but not great
we can't score with regularity
too many key players are missing in action

first round 7 game exit

This team is in trouble. All of its weaknesses were on full display against the Caps tonight. Too many glaring flaws. One and done.

I voted Stanley cup champions. I am a bruins fan after all and year in and year out its what I hope for so I'm not changing my answer for the sake of this poll.

Mind you their play has annoyed the hell out of me recently but going into tomorrow they still have the chance to finish 1st in the division. No matter how down I get on them I can't help to think that last seasons cup champions were a #8 seed and still went all the way. Never give up is my mentality.

As bad as they're playing, if they can't beat the Leafs, Sens, or Islanders, something is very, very wrong...

Saying round 3. I still have a lot of faith. Not sure they can beat the Pens, but if they play at the top of their game they definitely can.

That's too bad.

Anyway asking this question after a brutal loss invites all the knee jerk emotional posters in here to post "one and done."

The board as a whole has a pulse, and your pretty much checking it after a heart attack.

Lose tomorrow. Lose the division. Lose to Toronto in 6. Kessel scores 5 goals in the series. Because THAT's the kind of season it's been for us

We Bruins fans are Theon Greyjoy

That pulse has been going on long before the trade deadline... just ask Lucic, Horton, Peverly and others.... including our captain.

i was more pissed at the officiating tonight than anything. maybe a timely loss. seeing the sens lose brought smiles to my face. i'll take the caps in round two after a physical series with the rangers.

i'm wondering when one of these awful refs will learn how to call a dive. or if the league even really wants to clean up the crap
the eyeball tells me they can't beat pittsburgh. seguin isn't good enough or strong enough

I don't think you addressed anything I said, but I'll try to respond to this.

The board like the team, has its highs and lows. Right now we are in the Mariana trench, so asking the opinion of the team right now is gonna give you a different response than if you waited till Monday after the season is over and the chips have all fallen.

Not sure if I can simplify anymore.

I don't view myself as a knee jerk emotional poster. My views of this team have been shaped from watching them this entire season. Tonight's game was emblematic of this year's version of the Bruins. Too many games have been lost due to the reasons we saw tonight. Can't score on the PP; not a 60 minute effort; some goaltending lapses; weak defensive plays at critical times.

Whether this thread was put up tonight, or after the game tomorrow (win or lose) I doubt you'd have a large difference in responses.

In my view, people thinking that this year's team is destined for playoff success can only be basing that on a hope for intangibles or just a general positive feeling for the team no matte what. Either one is ok, if that's your bag, but for the more objectively analytic among us, a deep run would seem realistically unlikely.

Only team better than the Bruins is Pittsburgh, and that's assuming Crosby's healthy. B's will at least get through two rounds.
