If we get by the 1st round it'd be a shock.

Can't answer.

I suspect we're one and done. But I can't deny that this roster is better than the one that won two seasons ago. It gives me hope.

If we make it out of the first round, we're making it out of the second... And probably to the Finals. But that first round is going to be a doozy. Depending on opponent - it's just tough to say.

Whether this thread was put up tonight, or after the game tomorrow (win or lose) I doubt you'd have a large difference in responses.

In my view, people thinking that this year's team is destined for playoff success can only be basing that on a hope for intangibles or just a general positive feeling for the team no matte what. Either one is ok, if that's your bag, but for the more objectively analytic among us, a deep run would seem realistically unlikely.

Agreed and give me Jagr, Horton and Hamilton over Daugavins, Thornton and Redden in the playoffs.

Meant to vote for 2nd round.((even the way they are playing the B's "should" be able to beat the Isles/Leafs/Sens)). Although the 1st round exit might be just as likely.

I expect that trolls from other teams forums will come in here and skew the vote negatively, so the numbers are kind of pointless

I fully expect them to win the cup, things will come together again and we will be celebrating once again

Didn't actually think you were referring to me personally; was just describing myself as a preface to my statement. If you were able to poll every poster here, I would bet that a great many of thoughtful Bruins of longstanding would express serious concern at this point.

They win in regulation they get Islanders then either Was/MTL/TOR and they can beat them all. Only hate MTL in round one when the smurfs have yet to be smacked around,

The board like the team, has its highs and lows. Right now we are in the Mariana trench, so asking the opinion of the team right now is gonna give you a different response than if you waited till Monday after the season is over and the chips have all fallen.

Not sure if I can simplify anymore.

Wow another swing and miss. What is up with you?

Where did I say a win changes anything? I said see where the chips lie, as in see who we are playing in the first round and how the rest of the playoff bracket gets set in stone.

I feel like I'm playing t-ball with these responses.

It would though, dude. Win OR lose tomorrow, to be honest.

Posting the poll on the Monday following the regular season, you're going to get a truer evaluation of where we think we are with the team and not just a bunch of people frustrated after a loss.

Also, we'll know who the opponent is. Which (let's be fair) makes a big difference. We're pretty down on the B's right now, but does anyone feel as though we'd be the underdogs in a series against the Islanders?

Not everyone is like cats like you and I, randy... The vote in many cases tonight, will be based on the emotion of losing TONIGHT - rather than reason.

Now I'm sensing disingenuousness on your part. You're dissembling. When you post "Good timing on this thread", you're implying that posting the thread directly after another foolish loss will somehow skew the responses.

I love when people get all passive aggressive and then get all cute when called on it.

As above, per the first quote, you mentioned timing... which you mentioned after tonight's loss... therefore you have an issue with this poll being posted near/after a loss.
When was/is/will be a non-issue timed poll.... opponent means nothing, as per the very 1st comment.
Answer please.

Your over complicating things.

Asking how we feel about a team after a tough loss is gonna give you a negative emotional response.

Asking how we feel after a big win is gonna give you a more positive emotional response.

Asking how we feel after the regular season is over and the sights are fully set on the playoffs and the regular season is behind us, is gonna be a lot more logical than emotional.

My whole point

I remember in 2011 saying that this place was as negative and irrational as I had ever seen it. Before we won of course.

The win gave us a few months, but we're right back on track.

Don't get me wrong, there is MAJOR reason to be concerned about the Bruins this year in the post-season. Serious actual concern. And REAL valid criticism about how things are being done.

If it's not half of this board, then it's a very loud minority that seems to be jumping off cliffs right now. And while I don't like certain things about the team and how it's playing, I see the solutions and they're all internal.

I don't see a lot of people arguing that.

Good points mmb.

The one negative of posting 95% of the time from my phone, I don't have the time or patience to craft posts like that.

Good stuff.

I don't think it really matters, what we saw yesterday or today or tomorrow won't make a huge difference Gonzo. For the record, I'm not voting until Tuesday, but I already know my answer. If we win tomorrow, it balances out in your mind etc.
We are arguing semantics here.
