TK sits for Jokinen. Mark it down.

The question is whether Glass sits for Bennett.

Pretty sure we'll see Glass-Jokinen-Adams, but imagine the possibilities for sneaking Sid or Geno out with a line of Bennett-Jokinen-Adams.

My final lines:

Kunitz-Malkin-Neal
Dupuis-Crosby-Iginla
Morrow-Sutter-Cooke
Bennett-Jokinen-Adams

I know these won't be DB's but those are my final lines.

If they want the season's top line back:

Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis
Morrow-Malkin-Neal
Cooke-Sutter-Iginla
Bennett-Jokinen-Adams

I know DB would never sit Adams, but if it comes to the point where he might want to roll 7D, I'd definitely want Bennett and Jokinen as the "4th line" that the other centers double shift with.

I think there's a chance. I think there's a good chance that's the top 9. He's been trying out other guys on the PK, which gives me hope about Glass sitting.

Can't even move Morrow up now because Morrow - Sutter - Cooke looks so damn good too (great playoff line potentially).

+ Great season, finished on a strong note and got the guys who have been out some scoring and confidence.

+ Cooke's goal was awesome and hilarious at the same time. That might've been the worst single effort by a D and G on one play I've seen all season though. Including some of Orpik's finer moments earlier this year. Holy **** is that embarrassing for those guys.

+ Despite a bad game and a scratch, I'm giving +'s to Elmer and Beauner for showing some great skills this year and giving the years ahead the promise of some legit, affordable talent. Goodbye Kennedy you suck. Thanks for proving me right.
The other thing is that Duper-Sid-Iggy and Kunitz-Geno-Neal is a matchup nightmare for anyone that the feared configuration isn't. THAT is a true pick your poison proposition. I mean, teams only have one top defensive unit. Got to put it on Sid, right?

Cole is so right. Kunitz is the engine for that line. I've always said Geno goes to another level when he's got a guy like that (or Malone or Talbot before) on his line.

BTW, that Kunitz chip to Geno, Geno keeps it wide to feed Neal the one timer for his HT goal . . . carbon copy of the goal against Ottawa to open the 2008 playoffs (Malone chips, Sykora finishes).

I might be totally off/deluded here, but it seems like having a guy who can go in and go after the puck like that also gives Neal more time to find open spots.

Just wait til the 4th line starts throwing out jussi beauners left and right. It has so much potential AND is solid defensively.

Amazing regular season!

+ Kunitz-Geno-Neal line. They played amesome: Nealer 3+1, Geno 1+2 and Kuni 0+2.
+ PP and PK.
+ Cooke's goal was beautiful.
+ Cooke-Sutter-Morrow, they played well.
+ Also Iggy-Juice-Duper played well!

- Despres

Thank you Pens! Lets bring the Cup back home!

Now to the game:

Iginla not only looks lost on his off wing, he also looks like a bad hockey player. Jarome Iginla is not bad at hockey.

4th line is literally useless, as in it has no use. If it was currency, it couldn't afford to contribute to a "take a penny, leave a penny" tray. It would only be able to take a penny, thus technically stealing.

Breaking up 14-71-18 would be a fireable offense. This is coming from DB's staunchest defender.

In a perfect world, it would be a 4th line of Vitale-Juice-Beauner, but I'll settle for Adams in there as long as #15 isn't in the lineup.
One could resolve these two dilemmas by putting Sid with Dupuis at LW and Iggy at RW. They looked pretty good in that configuration with Geno on Tuesday.

- Bylsma. Just mentioning Malkin and Neal without Kunitz.

He CAN'T be this clueless, can he?

Yeah, its like a revelation. Who'd have thunk it?
It sure isn't something any of us have been saying for literally years... at least as it pertains to Geno...

I didn't think there would be, but Kunitz-Geno-Neal didn't just light it up tonight. They were a flat out machine.

Tyler Kennedy is a proven playoff warrior.

He was there during the 2008 and 2009 runs.

I have a hard time seeing Bylsma sitting him for a rookie.

Well it IS a nice thougt to roll Kunitz Malkin Neal, Dupuis Crosby Iginla, Morrow Sutter Cooke and then come out there with Bennett Sid/Malkin Jussi just to **** up oposition some more, before starting the rotation again.

That's three great 1st lines and a stellar 3rd. Dang.

Literally all DB needs to do is swap Dupuis and Iginla. Simple as that. Don't force anything. If Beau isn't in I'll deal with it. Just swap those two sides and we're good.

I missed the last two minutes of the game but Iginla came down the right side. Was that an intentional switch or just part of the flow of the play? I seriously hope DB was paying attention.

You're not deluded. THAT is why the only two guys who had worked all season on Geno and Neal's LW were Morrow and Bennett.

With Malkin, you get the most out of him by having what I call that Malone-Malkin-Sykora dynamic. One guy who does all the little things and gets/gives Geno the puck and one guy who gets 'lost' in the shuffle to have that little extra space to finish. Neal had three tonight. At least 6 of his 8 shots were from prime scoring areas.

As for your food for thought, Bennett will play before Kennedy. The question is whether he'll play before Glass. 2/3 of the fourth line is set when Sid returns. It's Jokinen and Adams. The question is the third guy. I think it's going to be Glass.

BTW, a monster + tonight for BORSCHT. Sid is the best player in hockey. BUT, Geno on borscht is pretty damn close.
You gotta admit though, Geno is a bit of a pouter. Looks completely different when on a line with Kunitz.

(maybe I'm maybe I'm not)
