Same here! The **** that some of their fans talk is out of this world. For such a ****** team, they play it off as if they are one of the best in the NHL. Considering they had our discarded scraps (Wellwood/Antro and Poni for a short period of time) plus a useless Olli Jokinen, I'm surprised they even finished in 9th this year! Playing in the Southeast must've helped for sure..

It would suck so bad being a Columbus fan right now. Looking back at the season, trying to see where they could have gotten an extra point that would have saw them through. My utmost sympathies go towards their fans tonight.

me too. I was really, really hoping they would have made it. It looks like it was ROW that killed them.

and they're moving into the former Atlantic division pretty much, so that's a hecka lot of Pittsburgh, New Yorks, and Flyers. Good luck, Jackets.

7uongo... LOL

And now CBC tries their best to act like this loss means nothing in order to keep the fans happy. I don't care if it's the last game of the season and some guys are resting, you are pro athletes. Have some pride and some dignity. 5 goals allowed in a few minutes... against the Oilers. Gross haha

Columbus missed out.

Oh well. Good for the Wild, making it just by the skin of their teeth. Wish we could've seen Detroit drop a spot to see a Hawks-Wings playoff round, but Detroit-Anaheim should be good as well.

So close, Columbus. Though I'm not upset with Minny making it (just barely with that roster ), Detroit in pisses me off.

I find it funny how the Wild barely make it with that lineup especially when people had them slated to finish 4-5 in the west

That's exactly like the Kings last year.

Detroit is going to be interesting going forward.

They are getting to be older, however they did play with 6 EL contracts this year. Leafs played with 4, and both teams had a Euro vet on a EL.

DeKeyser has looked good for them.

Wings and Leafs have Filppulla and Bozak to sign. Both important players for their respective teams.

Leafs have 12 players under contract with 19 million in space.
Wings have 19 players under contract with 11 million in space.

Leafs have a couple buy-out candidates, not sure about the Wings.

Wings and Leafs will be competing against each other next year. Travel will be greatly improved for the older Wings which might help their geriatrics.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

Yakupov wins the scoring race for rookies, beating out Huberdeau by scoring more as they both had 31 points.

Ottawa, Edmonton, Montreal dominate the top 10 in rookie scoring.

Two of those teams are in the post season.

I agree. To be fair though, spots 4-8 were pretty close AND the Wild even had one more ROW win then the division winning Canucks. Minny's inability to lose in OT rather than regulation almost cost them a playoff spot lol.

Avs fire Joe Sacco

I wonder if they will consider Eakins as a possible replacement. I'd hate to lose him, but if we do have to lose him then the Avs are a team I wouldn't mind seeing him go to.

Curious oh Leaf nation. Where does the dislike run stronger, Sens or Habs, which do you want out in the first round.

I'm probably edging a little towards the habs, but I hope each team beats the other physically and mentally Don't really care who wins though, as long as its an ugly series

Sens and Habs could be intriguing. I get a sense that there's potential in that playoff for the two teams to develop a strong hate very quickly, could be looking at the birth of a new rivalry. If it's a short series, probably less likely-but if it goes 6 or 7 games it could get interesting.

Not going to say it's as strong as Leafs/Habs or Leafs/Sens-there's just something I can't put my finger on. The two teams have no playoff history and fanbases seem rather neutral to each other. Yet it almost seems itching for a spark.

Not saying it will happen, but also saying I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't even know.

Probably the Habs, but only because the Sens team is much more likeable. Still hate you though.

Great quote in your sig btw, love it.

Who do you guys want to win the draft lottery? I'm hoping the Avs, Preds or Flames win it.

Just for the laughs. And watch them draft another forward for more laughs.
