Silver linings.

I'm sure the Flyers will come out of the draft with the guy they want, sans Seth Jones.

Is this the first time the flyers were over .500?

23 wins out of 48 games is not over .500.

49 points out of a possible 96 points is over .500.

That's their point percentage. Not winning percentage. They still lost more than they won. No one cares about the loser point.

and, perhaps, a whole lot of cap space if Bryz is bought out.

I see "loser" points as basically regulation ties, since there was no OT until 1983-84 and so everyone up to that year got a point after 60 minutes. Anyway, just like in the shortened 1994-95 season, we finished ahead of the Devils

And likely another struggle to make the playoffs if Mase is our starter next year (not that I want Bryz either).

That's not much to brag about.

Winning percentage is not relevant in the modern NHL; Points percentage is. Loser points are still points, and points are how they determine who make the playoffs.

If the Flyers went 23-12-13 their winning percentage would be below .500, but they would have 59 points and be the 5th seed in the East.
