Carter is just invited to tryout. Just a legacy thing, highly doubt he'll actually make it.

Edited it for clarification.

I think they will keep him on the practice roster and work with him. He is a talent its his lack of playing that has hurt him because he wouldn't go to school.

Who knows tho

0-0 in the top of the fourth. Would be nice if the Twins could win this one. Oh and for lacrosse fans the Swarm will take on the Toronto Rock in a playoff game on FSN+ in a couple of minuets.

Twins up 3-0 in the bottom of the seventh. Morneau had a two run homer in the sixth. Swarm up 9-5 in the second.

Hey guys, anyone know the timeline projection for Miguel Sano in terms of when he could be in the bigs? The guy is crushing the ball in A-ball. Thanks!

I had initially heard 2015, but I wonder if he couldn't come up next year. I am a terrible baseball prospect guy.

Baseball prospects confuse me, I have no idea what a "normal" timeline is for a draftee.

They're probably going to continue to move him along slowly since he's only 19. His defense still needs a lot of work if they're going to keep him at third but his bat is probably big league-ready right now. The way he's hitting in High A ball I wouldn't be surprised if they move him up to New Britain this year. I'd say reaching the majors in 2015 is still a good projection though.

Some point next year if he his servicable at 3rd base. They aren't concerned with his bat at this point but rather his glove. I haven't checked on him this year but his K ratio has been high but when you hit productively otherwise it is less of a concern.

It is all about the glove at this point and if he can't get 3rd then it is RF or 1B for him.

I have been on pins and needles since they signed him. He is absolutely the most exciting and potentially the most impactful prospect the Twins have ever had and that is not hyperbole.

I may be hoping against hope here but I sure would like to see the Twins keep Morneau and Willingham it was pretty clear that Justin was returning to form the second half of last season and his play in the WBC and the start of this season seems to show that the 2nd half last year was real for him. Introducing Sano into a line up that has Willingham, Morneau and Mauer already there is something to be excited about and especially so if Sano can play 3rd base.

Holy ****!!!!!

I just looked at Sanos numbers at Ft Meyers...good god those are beautiful!!!

His .945 fielding % is a good sign also.

If that keeps up for another week then i would absolutely advance him to AA, after 20 games at Ft Meyers it certainly appears he is far ahead of A ball.

23 games
89 AB
9 HRs
5 2bs
1 3b
24 RBI
.360 AVG
.742 SLG (LMAO)
1.162 OPS

Those numbers are just off the charts and the Twins front office must be walking around giggling like fools.

It's actually pretty incredible how great all of the Twins top prospects are doing in the minors this year.

Slash lines (BA/OBP/SLG)

Arcia in AAA before he was called up- .394/.474/.727
Buxton in low A- .389/.511/.639, with 18 RBIs and 8 SBs
Rosario in high A- .351/.381/.546

And the pitchers they got in the Span and Revere trades-
Meyer in AA- 2-0, 1.64 ERA, 26 Ks in 22 IP
May in AA- 1-1, 2.11 ERA, 23 Ks in 21.1 IP

Would probably look even better had Hicks been in AAA to start the year. Glad to see he's picked it up though recently.

In defense of Hicks he won the job fair and square in the spring and it wasn't even close. Also when you look at all off catgories and not just Avg you get a hint of just how dynamic he can be if that Avg comes along. I am not sure any of the CF options could still be contributors if their Avg was where Hicks is at.

Apparently some sports pundits are ranking the Vikes' draft class this year right at the top of the entire NFL. Interesting.

I believe Buxton is leading the entire single A league in a number of hitting categories.

He is at a lower A level right now then Sano is. He is looking sharp though, perhaps he gets moved up soon and Sano will move up to AA.

The Twins haven't had this kind of offensive prospects in awhile, probably going back to Kubel and Morneau in terms of power and avg.

The Twins lower minors are loaded. You guys haven't even mentioned Arcia....who was tearing apart AAA and is doing pretty well considering everything in the majors.

I think Parmalee/Plouffe will eventually show they are legit bats in the MLB as well. Just me though.

If Sano and Buxton both reach their potential, they'll be better than Morneau or Kubel could ever dream of being. Not to get you guys too excited and not saying it's going to happen but Buxton is the closest thing to Mike Trout I've seen since Trout tore through the Midwest League in 2010.

"You Realize How Badly the T-Wolves screwed up the 2009 Draft, Right?"

I'm always amazed by how many people either forgot about this or give Kahn a pass because he drafted Rubio. Especially when Rubio was the #2 prospect in the draft and just fell into his lap.

How that joker lasted as long as he did, I'll never know.

Just goes to show, being cheap can cost you more money than just doing things the right way.
