No it's certainly not ok. No need to bring that crap over here.

You'd think we'd learn the lesson about top players.
Especially after the embarrassment at the world juniors where we did have our best players yet the Americans destroyed us.

Let's be humble in victory.

There are tons of Americans who like to use their dominance of the U18 as evidence of USA overtaking Canada in the game of hockey, so I'll get my pound of flesh now. Don't dish if you can't take.

It really was a scary close game and say what you will about the refs, the US gave us a hell of a scare and will only continue to do so. Congrats to Canada for again proving to the world that we have not lost our edge in this sport and congrats to the USA for continuing to ice a highly competitive team.

Yep. You know if the shoe was on the other foot, there'd be some American posters coming in here with their "USA" chants. Double standard.

Dude, just take the win and be happy about it. But remember to be humble too. It wasn't that long ago that the USA murdered Canada at the u-20s.

You sure do stick to the script.

Why don't you just enjoy the game instead of trying to "get your pound of flesh" over how a bunch of 17 year-olds play hockey?

I apologize on his behalf. We haven't exactly been killing it at the junior level lately so I guess he's forgotten what victory tastes like.

Congrats to Canada. They've always sent a lot of talent to this tournament and obviously this team brought the chemistry to match it. McDavid made history here and it'll be amazing to see what he accomplishes going forward.

Disappointing showing for the US but I'll give them a lot of credit for rallying from a poor round robin to make it all the way to the gold medal game. The NTDP has been a great success at this tournament but US hockey is not at a point where we can expect gold here every year regardless of the chemistry advantage.

The team was coached by Steve Spott. Any team would be hard pressed to accomplish anything with him behind the bench.

Oh, okay. Just make sure to relay that information to your own fans next time the results are reversed, alright?

"Tons of Americans?" There's probably 50 Americans that even know this tournament exists, and 20 of them play on the team. No one in the USA honestly believes we are overtaking Canada in hockey, we just belive we are closing the gap. Big difference.

Your compatriot (2525) was right, you should be humble in victory.

It's bad enough when Canadians play the "we didn't have our best players" card when you lose. But, to play it when you win is downright awkward.

How about you just choose not to act like those folks you find intolerable? The act is sad, annoying, and childish regardless of the country they are "defending." You see, it bothers me, as you seem to insinuate it bothers you, yet I choose not to then hypocritically behave in that manner. My point exactly:
