If he continued to play like that, I can see BG sent Dagenais down to make a place to Balej. Dagenais id inconsistent. It would be fun because Blalej have a better career with the habs ahead of him. Not sure for Dagenais...

Come on.. 9 pts in 11 games approx. That's pretty good.

I'd rather they drop one of Dackell, Kilger and Sundstrom.

I know that...and I like Dagenais but Balej seem to be bether than Dagenais...Faster, pure goal scorer and can play well defensively. Dagenais is not fast, is so-so in the defensive zone...but he have ******* good shot. I would keep Dagenais in the team but if, sometime in the season Dagenais hit a wall and cant contribute to the team, Balej would be the first one I would call-up.

Dagenais is a Chouinard Clone, dont worry he will disapear soon enough. he wont become a establish player !!!IMO!!! and he is slow like a turtle without 3 legs. Balej on the other hand a become bigger 6'01 190lbs and also as speed to burn, and that having already a quality shot Ala Chouinard or Dagenais.
Wow...four goals is impressive. Even more impressive is that it's the first time it's been done in two years.
Much, much less impressive, however, is the fact that the last guy to do it was Eric Landry.
Bottom line, yes, let's all be happy that Balej is tearing up the AHL, but until we see him prove in the least way that he belongs in the bigs, let's not ink his name into next season's starting lineup.

Landry was 26 when he did it in the AHL??? Balej is at his first full year in the AHL and he is 21, before comparing Landry to Balej.... also they are 2 completely different type of players.. Oh boy...

I say next year he could be a calder candidate.
His size doesn't indicate his softness. He is not particuliarly strong.... but is Dagenais at 6'5"?

As tempting as a mini-tear is for folks, Hamilton is where he belongs. Let him get good coaching under Jarvis, let him get quality ice time, and let him learn how to be part of a winning team. Being rotated in and out of the 4th line like our current bunch of seasoned NHL'ers is not what he needs at 21. After all, Balej had a pretty so-so season and was a healthy scratch for all but three games of last year's AHL playoffs. I need to see more consistency and his ability to raise his game in the playoffs, etc. first.

no and thats why is can easily take his place, i dont say balej is strong but as the size to endure the NHL rigours and also he isnt soft with the puck, if i remember well he is a kind of Zednik on that departement, altough i can be wrong.
okay so let me understand this...
we complain that we're too small this we're too small that...
then we find a guy who, although i admit wont ever be a superstar, is playing a somewhat physical role, gives us a big body presence AND is actually scoring, and you guys already want to replace him fo another small (but fast) forward...
leave dagenais alone... he's playing pretty well right now and he seems to have some chemistry with ribs (who has 26 pts now)
is he the saviour.. of course not, but he's contributing and that's good enough for me...
and no sh@t he's inconsistent, the only players that are not inconsistent are the superstars and the players that are consistently bad.
i'm excited about balej too but he's only in his second pro season so lets just enjoy the numbers he's piling up in the A.
