Whitney reminds me of those tone deaf singers who try out for American Idol who think that they are the best thing since sliced bread. Don't let the door hit you on the way out bud

Yeah. I read the comment at first and thought it was sickening. After listening to the audio of it, he really wasn't that bad. A bit delusional maybe, but really didn't bash the franchise as I expected.

Nice journalism though, everybody who management wants gone will be treated like this.

Wow, really guys?
I remember this board demanding Whitney be benched and fistric be played
Whitney was absolutely brutal before getting scratch several times. He didn't give a damn he was planning on leaving this org anyway.
Pretty much. Time for both to part ways. Tambo screwed up by not trading him though. Sounds like there have been issues for a long time.

Dude, I've addressed your single point several points. You asked if he should have kissed ass instead. I said he should have acknowledged his own poor play before going on some self-entitled rant about how the organization may unfairly treated him. You responded with the same point about kissing ass.

No, I asked you what was wrong with the things he said. I don't see anything wrong about those comments. Care to explain your reasoning without saying vague things like "professional"? What is wrong with those?

Krueger talks like he has a set book or word document of lines he grabs them from.

It seems so forced and artificial. And frankly, it comes off as goofy.

Of course a lot of Oiler fans will trash Whitney just like they did with a bunch of other players who left town disgruntled but just like the others, it seems like there is a lot of truth to what Whitney is saying. Just a rotten culture here all around and i'm sure this doesn't help the reputation of the team around the league.
MacT is going to have to do quite a sell job to free agents to get them to come here.

The man with the second prettiest avatar in here explained himself succinctly.

I'm a little confused at the cyclical nature of your guy's conversation.

Is Horcoff's and Smyth's comments that really bother me. Getting rid of those two would really change the team. Horcoff should be a ****ing politician the way he never takes any responsibility.

Why does Horcoff sound like he's an assistant coach or assistant GM or something? Never sounds like he has responsibility for on-ice performance but he has all kinds of comments about what the players in general need to do and how the kids are going to improve and blah blah blah. Horc...you collected the biggest cheques this season dude... you were useless during the losing streak (among many other points of the season) getting easy minutes until the team was basically eliminated.

I've said in another GDT that getting rid of Hemsky, Smyth and Horcoff would rid us of what has been the epitome of the current Oiler culture - piss poor performance and zero care. Complete indifference to the game.

Judging by the comments of Horcoff and Smyth. I'd say that the delusions of grandeur some of the players on this roster have are equally, if not more-so, frightening than the aforementioned culture.

Whitney was garbage for pretty much the whole season. The man thinks he is entitled based on his play a few years ago. It's a bit ironic given the Smyth situation, but there are only 6 d spots in the lineup at one time.

Potter could have been scratched a bit more often but they are different shots and Potter is someone they might want to keep around next year, when Whitney clearly wasn't. People hate on Potter but the guy was +8 this season, so he was obviously doing something right.

Just watched a couple more interviews.

I like how Hall is so blunt in his interviews, but he doesn't seem to enthusiastic about moving to center. No big deal IMO, he is a world class winger and I think alot of the people wanting him to move there just want him to be Messier. He isn't. Not that I think it would be a bad idea, or that we shouldn't give it a shot. But I just don't wanna see them force it for 30+ games next year and us miss the playoffs since he wasn't comfortable there.

Also Nail is awesome, pretty cool he said he wanted his first celly to be like his last.
