I agree with the poster in terms of hockey IQ. His slap passes, movement to get into open areas, and ability to get into spots to create plays is just incomparable.
Johnson also suffered a legitimately huge injury, tearing his ACL and MCL and missing a full year because of it.

And she married one of the ugliest, strangest looking men in the NBA. Nice what some height, money and... well, more money will get you in terms of women. The only status he ever had in the NBA was that of workhorse-grinder/weirdo lol.

Hey, still better than Dennis Rodman no? Anyway, I've seen ugly guys get hot chicks pretty often. Women don't care about looks as much as men do.

Same old steady play from him. Has been really poised with the puck and seems to have shown even more aggression in the corners and the tough areas of the ice. Offense has continued to be a factor too. Scored goals in games 4 and 5 for Portland in the West finals off great slappers and had a great goal on the wraparound early in the series too. Kids the unquestioned #1 for me, still.

I thought he looked great wednesday night in edmonton. very steady and poised. was calm when he had the puck and didnt seem to make mistakes. didnt get beat one on one often. you can see the offensive potential.

Much more fluid skater than Larsson and looks like he is a little more offensive minded than Hedman at the same age.

Like mentioned ^^ , one of the main differences is he's got more offensive upside.

His offence, and his overall mobility are better in my mind he's also more of a determined player, but maybe that's my NA bias.

How does Seth compare to Doughty, Petro, Bogosian at the same age?

So in each ranking it ends up with these votes

Jones 1 1 1 1 2 3
Hedman 1 1 3 3 3 3
Larsson 2 2 2 2 2 3

Agreed completely.

Jones is an ELITE skater, and thinks the game at an extremely high level. He has tons of raw physical tools (skating, edgework, size, wingspan) and coupled with a high hockey IQ, great hands, and great offensive creativity, he definitely surpasses both of those guys.

However, I also think Victor Hedman gets very underrated around these parts, so it's high praise on Jones for me to say that I like Jones better.

More hype. Offensively he's getting overrated, but good skater.

I don't think he's being overrated offensively at all. If you actually watch him play, you'll see he clearly leans to an offensive style of game compared to defensively.

Yup the offensive game he has it down, just needs to become better in the defensive zone.

Which is pretty crazy if you ask me.

He refers to himself as a shutdown defensman with some offense.

He has played against the best competition nightly all year and absolutely destroys those matchups.

I know +/- isn't the best stat, but this kid is +61 in 82 WHL games this year. He literally shut downs the other team and beats them on the scoreboard.
