I've got three together! And I'm not doing the easy trek from MTL. A tor series would have been lighter on my wallet, but heavier on my brain. (see: leaf fans, as expected, claiming they would have crushed us.)

Here is the address if you need to find Scotiabank place. Good luck!

Since looking into how I'm planning on getting there, I've realized JUST how atrocious this planning was.W.T.F.?

For people who've been to SBP before driving up from MTL, what do most people do re:beering it up? Let's say nobody wants to be the DD (not 51, not 44)? I thought there would be cheap hotels around that area, but they all seem to be at least $100 and usually more. Nuts.

If Desharnais can't drive you back then you might think about busing it. There's usually a midnight bus back to MTL. You can maybe take a cab between the arena and bus station.

When I was an usher at Scotiabank Place, nothing made me laugh harder than having Habs fans drive for 2 hours to come to a Sens game and then realize once they got there that their tickets were in the "no alcohol / Family Fun zone". Not laugh in a mean way, just in an ironic "if you came here to drink, why did you buy those tickets?" kind of way.

So just a heads-up: sections 314, 315 and 316 are NO ALCOHOL. It's called the "Coke Zero" section. You run the risk of getting kicked out of the building for drinking in those three sections, so do yourself a favor and be double sure where your seats are if you want to drink at the game (and, if my past working experiences involving Sens-Habs games at SBP hold any weight: you do).

So... yeah. Just a friendly heads up from an ex-Scotiabank Place employee. 314-316 are "dry sections". Good if you want a deal on tickets (Coca Cola subsidizes ticket prices in those 3 sections, which = cheaper tix), bad if you want to drink.

Horrible idea.

Cab from SBP to the bus station downtown is probably a $75 cab fare, easy. Probably more.

Remember: the arena is deep in the suburbs. You're better off taking a city bus back downtown, they run pretty regularly after games.

Having made the trip too scotia bank place before this series (5-1 loss this year) I can give you one piece of advice... PLAN ON GETTING THERE EARLY

The traffic too get too the rink is worst than being on the 40 near decarie at 5pm.
It's 1 lane in too get too the rink and it takes forever.

....other than that... If you're there for game 4 like me... MAKE SOME NOISE!!!!

Habs fan from Ottawa/Gatineau.
I don't plan getting to the SBP, for a simple reason : from my place, it's longer getting to the SBP than to the Bell Center... and I'm 4 minutes away from the 417.

So I'll safely stay at the Pêle Mêle

However... When is game 6? If there's a possibility... It is for game 6.

Why are people saying the tickets are cheap? I see standing room tickets for $70 and the cheapest seated ones are $121

FYI as others have said: the traffic to get to the stadium is pretty nasty. The best way to avoid it is to ride the bus (OC transpo). There will likely be a lot of people boozing on it (good times!).

Even if you're driving in you can park somewhere (there are park and ride spots around http://www.octranspo1.com/routes/park_and_ride) and ride the bus.

They originally had the prices this low because they didn't expect to be able to play the Habs in the first round...

Pretty much this.

Ottawa still has a HUGE number of Habs fans in the city who were Habs fans before we got the team in '92.

Playing Montreal in the playoffs means you're increasing your LOCAL prospective ticket base by anywhere from 15-25%, and that's not even including you Habs fans from Montreal who are only 1.5hrs away.

Sens front office know that Sens-Habs is a sellout at whatever price they want to charge. Might as well get the money themselves, rather than donate it to the "middle man" (read: scalpers).

But would they be down about going to Ottawa for game 3 or 6? I'm really not sure.

The 121$ tickets were 56$ yesterday before it became officially the Habs that were the Sens opponent
