The Jets traded a 5th for Tebow. They are on the hook for the money Denver gave Tebow. The Jets wanted to trade Tebow and have that pay Denver the money. What a disaster. He is no longer on team. Another mess to clean up. Sanchez is next. Whether it in June or August or next March,Sanchez will be gone too. Revis was another mess. Jets couldn't franchise him and he could void the last 3 years of his contract. No choice but to trade him.

Or pay him seeing as how he wanted zero guaranteed money. But that would have required a modicrum of foresight from an organization that has been among the worst run and biggest perennial laughing stocks in NFL history

Wait someone consistently hates on the Jets drafts and Jets fans think that the criticism is not grounded in reality? They must not be very up to date on jets raft historyAsid fom a nice decade long streak recently they have been pretty bad at drafting

It was Tebow and 7 for a 4 and 6.

Woody wasn't paying Revis $16M per season. Besides the Bucs, how many teams were willing to meet the Revis asking price? None. Milliner will cost the Jets 4 years/$13M. More cost effective.

Im fully aware Woody wasn't willing to pay. I definitely disagree and it's definitely emblematic of the overall Jets history. Why keep the gold when you can parade around the participation trohpy. Football is more than one hall of famer of course. Hopefully Idzik can put it together. management and ownership has been a cancer for the Jets. Maybe next year if theyget rid of Ryan, Hess can ressurect and look for another "winner". is there a Kotite in the house?

An interesting feature on Geno Smith firing his agents, and their bizarre response:

Quote:
Our source—and, remember, this is someone from Smith's camp talking—claims Smith came to terms with his potential draft plunge weeks before the draft, and takes the blame for not being as polished a prospect as he could have been, both on and off the field. We openly speculated on some of the pre-draft preparation an agent gives a player, but the person close to Smith says he didn't make his call based on that, or on not going No. 1. "He just felt like he needed a change, and that's the end of the story," the person says. Which means it's clearly just the beginning.

Patriots sign Tebow
Quote:
The New England Patriots will sign Tim Tebow, league sources told ESPN.

The Patriots are signing Tebow, who is expected to participate in the team's mandatory minicamp Tuesday, as a quarterback, according to sources.

The move reunites Tebow with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who was the Broncos' head coach when Denver traded into the first round to draft the Heisman Trophy winner in 2010.

Aside from his entirely undeserved cult following courtesy the midwestern states of America whose education budget could be paid for several times over by their poaching ticket revenue, it's something of a non-story.

This is one hell of an ether if I've ever seen one.

Brian Boyle's thoughs on Tim Tebow signing (I bet reading those two names in a sentence made a lot of your heads explode):

Quote:
@RMcDonagh27 depends. If they can make him a decent TE they have 3 big athletic options there and added depth. Low expectations tho

You just know Tebow is gonna score a game winning TD against the Jets at least once this season, it's like scripture.

So, Hakeem reported to mini-camp. Thank God.

So the smartest coach in the NFL wants Tebow to play QUARTERBACK. I rest my case.
It begins.

I heard an interesting thought on Tebow

Bill got someone very well versed in the read option to run his scout team.

Doesn't the Patriots already have a bunch of top TEs? Maybe as FB in a few snaps or just for some trick plays?

Also, any teams in the hunt for Cruz? Would be cool if RG3 gets a top WR to play with.

Don't be like that.

His legs is obviously a huge part of his game but with better guys to throw the ball at he maybe don't make those crazy runs just as often.

Fair enough, I guess this is the wrong board to speculate like that.
