I'm glad #1 didn't go to that doomed franchise in Florida.

My God the NHL is so stuck in the 80s. Whose idea was it to put those frickin guys on that stage? And who picked the Vanna White girl with the huge bombs???? Loved that.

Couldn't be any more rigged IMO even if they had the second best chance

kind of cool though. you have to think jones is pumped at the possibility of playing in the city he started playing hockey in. good for him.

Sad that the most exciting part of the season for me was having a 1.5% chance at winning the draft lottery. FlyUers

Jones to the city that made him love hockey. I'm sure he would love it there. Especially since Sacco isn't a coach anymore.

Welp, at least EDM, NJD, or BUF (8th--where we would have been if we had lost the last game) didn't win.

Question: Why do they do everything behind closed doors? Why not put a bunch of balls into a machine right on screen?

well, we had a better chance at winning the draft lottery than winning the cup

pretty much, I knew colorado would win, struggling franchise that can't come close to selling out and a hometown player that is pretty much a lock to be first overall franchise player comes up, you knew they'd want to write that story book ending.

Conspiracy Theory
The NBA fixed the 1985 draft lottery so the Knicks would land Patrick Ewing.

Why People Believe It
It's the NBA. It was the first-ever lottery. Ewing was considered the best prospect in years, and he was already an East Coast icon from his years at Georgetown. The Knicks had been lousy and the league needed a boost in New York.

Plus, if you go to the youtube clip of the lottery you'll see that when the fourth envelope is placed in the spinning globe thingie (at around the 4:50 mark), it is slammed against the side of the globe thingie, apparently causing a crease in the envelope. This was the SAME ENVELOPE that David Stern pulled out to determine the No. 1 pick! OMG OMG OMG!

The thing is, we can't even be happy about that because we still would have been 3 slots higher if not for winning a meaningless game.

now clue...the way they did it was pretty stupid

no one cares about all the other teams that didn't win. just straight up tell us who won the draft

It would have been even cooler if he went to the biggest American Market in the Lottery in Philadelphia.

So they can choose who they want to win. Seems ridiculous to me

11th it is and there will be a lot of good players available. Not worried about the draft position at all. The Flyers are going to get a very good player.

Lets get real here. If they would have rigged it the Flyers would have won. There's no incentive to rig it for Colorado.

It just seemed so obvious that one of the top 5 teams was going to win. They wouldn't bring 14 envelopes out if that wasn't the case.

I believe that at least one, and possibly two, of Nurse, Ristolainen, and Zadorov will be there at 11.

I hope that whoever is is BPA on the Flyers board.
