Poile will build a time machine and draft Pickard again before drafting Nichuskin. Barkov, final answer.

It's a shame too; it sounds like Nichuskin is possibly the second best player in the draft.

Barkov has Finnish and Russian citizenship. He plays for Finland in international play.

Radulov and the Predators are the biggest reason why the "russian factor" exists. Considering we haven't drafted a Russian since, and the fact that he's still signed to a contract in the KHL like Kuznetzov is I seriously doubt he's picked by us or Carolina.

Shame too, I hear his game is reminiscent of Malkin.

With the acquisition of Forsberg I think Barkov is the only way to go. Instant connection coming into a new country, having someone around your age that speaks your native tongue is enticing.

My bad, I read it as a comma. And thought you were saying no way we draft either of them. My reading mistake

Not only that but you could even see the logo of the team in the envolope. It wasn't a good view but you could see the team colors and the general shape of the logo. Right after he opened it, before he could even turn it over I found myself saying "on to the next card."

It was one of the most awkward half hours of television ever. The Jets card falling off the display solidified it for me haha.

Woops. I mixed him and Lindholm up. Oh well, having someone from the same general area couldn't hurt.

Rinne is Finnish. I assume Peks is somewhat of a celebrity there, as good as he is.

Swedish is a secondary language in Finland. Alot of signs in Helsinki are in both Finnish and Swedish. So its possible Barkov speaks at least some Swedish.
