I don't think what he said was that bad. It's just not smart to put that on twitter because it's not very politically correct and some people will take it the wrong way. I don't think he was wishing any hate on gay people. He just doesn't understand it. I think a lot of people feel like he does in that regard. I have absolutely no hate for gay people but I can't say I relate or understand it at all.

This going to get political, so it won't get very far, but I do have to say this and then leave it be....

Some people like people of their own gender. Which part is so difficult to understand?

What Wallace said isn't hateful, but it is incredibly ignorant and reflects very poorly upon him. It's not about understanding why they feel that way, but rather simply understanding and accepting that they do feel that way. Wallace clearly failed on this part.

Yeah, I can agree with this. I'll leave it at that since this will get way off topic.

Steelers had offensive tackle Winston Justice in for a visit. The O-Line depth is really thin right now. Not sure they'll sign him but they'll likely have to sign a guy or two at some point.

Kudos to Jason Collins.

I expect more active players will come out soon.

I just said the exact same thing to a friend who agreed with Mike Wallace. I said, "take your like for women, and just imagine having the same like for men." Of course he still said, "I just don't get it," and I walked away before I clocked him.

To be fair, Wallace doesn't seem to understand inside passing routes much either. Just a narrow-minded dude.

So the Steelers signed veteran punter Brian Moorman today. He should give Butler a run for his money.

I would have liked his signing 5 years ago. Moorman used to be a beast. Consistently a pro bowl punter who could kick em' 50 yards through the air consistently. Would bust out a few 60 yarders too. He was also insanely fast for a scrawny white punter. I remember at the pro bowl when they had a skills competition he raced all the receivers and running backs and came in second

Still reading up on the draft picks and UDFA's. I'm sure more things will stand out in time but one thing that jumped out recently was the Utah WR/KR Reggie Dunn that they signed as an UDFA set an NCAA record with four 100 yard KR TD's last season.

If Dunn can return like Jacoby Jones, I'll be happy.

The UDFA class is pretty telling. You can see they're transitioning to a zone blocking scheme since Joe Madsen, Chris Hubbard, Nik Embernate and Ivory Wade are all fairly athletic lineman despite having some other warts to their games. No idea if any of them will stick but you can see the type of lineman they're targeting. Nice to have two athletic lineman like Pouncey and DeCastro to build around.

You can also see they want competition at that backup NT spot after Ta'amu's troubled first year with the team. NT Anthony Rashad White was one of their UDFA's and he's massive at 6'1" and 335 pounds. Omar Hunter was also signed as an UDFA. He was once highly touted at Florida but underwhelmed much of his career. Hebron Fangupo was claimed late last year off waivers.

Hilarious. I think the Ravens are smart enough to know he sucks but they probably need a body at QB to do their rookie camp stuff.

After LaRod Stephens-Howling and Brian Moorman signings, #Steelers are $392K under the salary cap. Will get $5.5 in space after June 1.

Sign Ahmad Bradshaw, I'm sure the Steelers won't try to sign Breaston, but I think he'd be a good fit in our offense.

Bradshaw could start and Breaston could make a guy like Cotchery expendable.

Interesting tidbit from Tyler Bray's father.

Quote:
Jeff said his son is "very excited" to be in Kansas City, but claims that two NFL teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, said they would draft Tyler. The Steelers ultimately chose Landry Jones out of Oklahoma.
I guess the Steelers liked Jones a lot better but I know quite of few people would have preferred someone like John Simon in round 4 and a developmental QB like Tyler Bray somewhere between the 5th and 7th round. I like Jones more but Bray is 21 which may be a better fit as a developmental QB than a 24 year old like Jones and Bray is probably more talented. He had the biggest arm in the draft. Then again, Jones seems more mature, much smarter and could be ready to step in and play for an injured Roethlisberger much sooner. Time will tell if the Steelers were right on that one.

I agree about Bradshaw. Not sure what the cap charge would be to cut Dwyer or Redman but if you know you can get Bradshaw, I think you move on from one of Dwyer or Redman to make room. Especially since I'm not sure Bell is ready to start.

WR is pretty crowded. Brown and Sanders are the starters. Cotchery and Wheaton will battle for the #3 spot. The loser will get the #4 spot and Plax is your #5. Then you're probably looking at either a developmental WR or return specialist as the #6 if they keep that many. Not seeing much room for Breaston anymore.

The Steelers will need some of that space to sign a couple O-Lineman too. That could be a problem.

Right now they have
Adams Foster Pouncey DeCastro Gilbert

The only lock for a backup spot is Kelvin Beachum. Malecki is very fringe even though he's still around and finished the year on the roster. I'd imagine one or both of Starks and Legursky will be brought back once they get that cap space. Hopefully they'll still have enough for Bradshaw and hopefully he's willing to sign here.

Yeah, I would want Bradshaw because Bell can learn from him, he could learn from Dwyer also, but Bradshaw is more of a veteran with Super Bowl winning experience, he also ran behind the Giants O-Line, which is where our new O-Line coach came from so it would probably be a similar scheme.

I agree about WR being crowded, I wouldn't want Breaston added to the crowd, my idea was since Cotchery struggled last year, you could replace him with Breaston and trade Cotchery to a team who needs a veteran WR. However I do like Cotchery and wouldn't mind him staying a Steeler either.

And yeah, we do need to re-sign the O-linemen. I don't think Starks will be back because I read he wants to be a starter and wants paid, that won't happen. We need Legursky, I'm sure Malecki will be there, I can see Mike Golic Jr. making the team as a reserve lineman.

It's mostly been bad news this off-season for Pitt Basketball. Steven Adams is leaving early for the NBA etc. But I saw Barry Rohrssen is returning as an assistant coach. He really helped them recruit the New York area well years ago before leaving.

I'm really starting to like the Steelers 5th round pick CB Terry Hawthorne. Carnell Lake said Hawthorne needs to work on his technique but the guy is chiseled and has lots of talent.

John Clayton of ESPN mentioned on Thursday’s episode of NFL Live that the Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to sign free agent wide receiver Steve Breaston within the next couple of weeks.

Sounds good to me. I'd imagine they'd dump Dwyer if they do wind up signing Bradshaw.

RB Depth
Bradshaw
Bell
Redman
Stephens-Howling

The Steelers still need to sign a couple veteran lineman too. Max Starks would be ideal as tackle depth if he's willing to take a backup job. I suppose someone like Winston Justice could be a fallback at some point if Starks refuses to comeback here. I don't know why he would though. No one else is offering him a starters job and it's entirely possible Marcus Gilbert or Mike Adams may wet the bed as a starter and Starks winds up starting again.

Legursky may also be brought back. Although I'd prefer they sign Antoine Caldwell who they had in for a visit a while ago since he's also young, experienced and a good bit bigger than Legursky.

I also wonder if they'll bring Casey Hampton back. Hard to imagine them being comfortable with Alameda Ta'amu and Hebron Fangupo backing up at NT unless Ta'amu suddenly finds the form that made the Steelers want to trade up to get him in the 4th round last year.
