Lsl

Combine for Pw/Bt AA and AAA is now over. A lot of coaches that applied for positions were watching at one point or another during the week.

A name I am hearing over and over from parents is Dan D'Astoli and Leeor Shtrom to coach Bantam AAA and Peewee AAA Community.

Deux Rives is also looking for a technical director for next season.

I don't think Shteom gets it, Orsini and John S will get the AAA teams.. There's also Louis I.

.

All speculations with no validity. Spoke to D'astoli ... didn't even know the position was opened. Who is John S ? Louis Isabella is coaching Montreal Selects. Will never come back to Lakeshore after the way he was treated.

Any ideas or rumors on the Sport Etude side ??

You mean Louis I. will never be allowed back to Lakeshore for the miserable showings in Dodge Cup and the the way he treated the 12-13 year old kids.

I didn't hear anyone talking about Bantam AAA or AA Sport Etudes.

Some west island parents were asking if Kirk Mullin had a chance at getting the Bt AAA but apparently Lakeshore is not a fan of his coaching methods (especially the way he gives his stars all the ice time and the rest of the team learns from the bench.)

I'd like to know more about Louis Isabella's treatment there, but don't post it here because there are lakeshore people on the site. Send me PM.

John S is the PWAA Royals coach.

I haven't heard many good things about Lakeshore.

That's not good. I believe in accountability. Not all players are made the same ... some are more gifted with individual skills and have the eye for that net ... these guys should be given more PP time. Other players are relentless workers with a different set of defensive skills .. these guys would be given more PK time. In the end, everyone has a role and everyone plays whether it is on the PK or PP. Players need to feel valued regardless what role they play. You cannot learn exclusively from watching other guys do both roles.

I've heard he's a nut... But then again I've heard a lot..

Yeah well lakeshore is beatable, and they were exposed. I and many others to come will tear them apart.

And regarding Lakeshore they want coaches who are either one of the club or who will do things their way no questions asked.

hearing that veleno (top 2000 and probably the strongest forward if he was a 99) is leaving the community team to go play for the Sport Etudes at John Rennie.

if rumor is true I think you will see more big names follow him.

That's massive. He's more then expected to make AAA... Fortier is supposed to give him a run for his money...

You can bet Lakeshore isn't too happy about that right now.

I'm extremely happy to hear this ! Sport Etude is the way of the future and those kids that are in are extremely lucky to be finishing school at noon and going to play hockey ... have their nights off to do other stuff like homework and just be a kid. Most importantly ... NO MORE POLITICS in school hockey and the elimination of stupid decisions by people who don't know hockey.

It's becoming a better option but its not the way of the future.

I agree with this. Politics will always be a part of the LSL opera.

player & coach selection

players selected to the pre camp for Bantam and Peewee AAA will be decided by the head of the SIL of LSL (which means the Midget AAA Lions)

Interesting...

I thought Gerry Gomez was in charge of that.

Gerry is the head of LSL and the SIL structure .. ultimately everything points to the Lions so he is in charge of player selection as well as coaches' selections.

Does anyone know when or how the 60 kids will be invited to camp ? I'm just questioning the selection process. It's pretty hard to invite someone based on those physical tests. Does anyone know when the tryouts will be held in August ?
