Some great posts and debate here. That is great to see!

I voted TO in 6. Reason for me is we might beat ourselves. Missed PP's, turnovers, weak goals let in. It shouldn't happen. We have a lot more - MUCH MORE - depth than TO.

If Kessel scores in the first game, then we are in trouble. Just a feeling. Hope like hell I am wrong.

My heart says Bruins in 5... but from what I've seen lately... I'd say Leafs in 7. I have a feeling that this will be very similar to the Caps series last year: very few goals scored, and the Bruins will make Reimer look like Vezina finalist.

I really hope I'm wrong, and I still believe that the Bruins SHOULD win this series easily if they play at the level they're capable of playing... But I'm not sure they will.

I took Bruins in 5 because Keith Jones and Dave Hodge think the Leafs will win.

Couldn't have said it better myself...hoping they prove me wrong several times over, but voted for Leafs in 6. Won't keep me from showing up and banging on the glass and cheering my heart out until I lose my voice every game. Let's go Bruins (remember to shoot the puck

Everyone in ESPN took the bruins to win. Not that that means a whole lot.

If we play the way we should, we should win in 5. That means everyone, encluding Clode get their heads out of their ***es. Bring that playoff intensity or this game could to a full 6 or even 7. The Leafs are hungry. First time in 9 years. They want it. I just hope WE want it more.

  • It matters not one bit what both the team and Clode's track record is. This team made the playoffs every year for 19 years in a row under various coaches, Clode's 6 in a row while impressive considering some of the teams he coached, is not enough to overlook the state of disarray the team is in right now.
  • Tuukka is not Timmy.

If this team:
  • Can't hold a lead (even with just hanging on, or whatever works).
  • Do not hit and intimidate.
  • Doesn't get scoring contributions from the 3rd line.
  • Do not get energy from the 4th.

Because those are the keys to our success, without them we're just a loose association of players who happen to be putting on the same sweater before a game.

If not those things, then what are we good at?

It's certainly not the power play. SH and 5on5 sure we're good at, but that hasn't been enough to win games lately. We're being beaten with the lead, with out it, tied going into O.T, and in the S.O. In fact we've lost nearly every way possible in the last month.

The saving grace is it's the Leafs. If they get an emotional bounce from an early win in this series, it could propel them through the series itself. After that I think anything can happen. If only because they look at themselves as losers right now. If they get a winning mindset by beating the Leafs it will change that attitude around 180 degrees.
Couldn't agree more. The Cup didn't help last year's team with Tim Thomas. And, is about as irrelevant as irrelevant can be when it comes to playing this series. Our defensive system will give the talented Leafs forwards more scoring chances than our system will generate for our forwards. I think the Leafs win in 6. The Bruins best chance to win is for Tuukka Rask to totally outplay James Reimer. Which is possible. But, I don't thing the edge in G is enough.

Barry Melrose picking the Bruins means we are totally screwed.

I'm not confident that Tuukka can make the big save in the big game. I need to see it.

It's silly season right now, don't even bother reading other teams boards or go on the main board. The knuckleheads are out and will be out for the next two months.

Postseason is how he`ll be judged for sure, and although it`s meaningless now, Tuukka stole far more pts this season than he cost this team.

Another concern I have is this, the Leafs have, all season long, failed to be a team who would consistently attack and keep opponents engaged with a decent amount of shots and I see no reason why, all of sudden, they would suddenly be a shooters team, can Tuukka stay alert while having 6-7 pucks shot his way per period?

Yep, and ever fan base has em, we aren`t absent of it here either, I love reading other teams board, it keeps my head on straight when I get irate with some here. It shows me that it`s not just the Bruins board that is insane

I have COMPLETE faith in Rask.

If we lose it will not be because of him.

He's going to elavate his play

Yeah any poster talking about hurting the other teams players shouldn't be taken seriously.

I honestly doubt the Leafs dress 2 goons in the playoffs...but I've been wrong before.

Anyway, sorry if I'm intruding as a Leafs fan but I wanted to see what you guys thought of the series. I'm hoping the Leafs make it difficult so I'm optimistically saying Bruins in 7, but I'm fearing the sweep thanks to our regular season record against you guys.

If Kessel can finally get going against the Bruins the Leafs could be dangerous. Otherwise, I think Toronto is in trouble. Reimer has been great this year too but the nerves of playing in the playoffs for the first time could easily get to him. I'm just happy they made it to be honest.

I consider my Leafs heavy underdogs in this series. Seguin's probably going to eat the Leafs because he seems to love scoring on Toronto.

Here's to hopefully a good series!

P.S. If Phaneuf gets hurt, Leafs are done like dinner....

I think one of two things will happen:

a) Bruins (the real Bruins) show up -- Then Bruins in 4 or 5

b) Bruins (regular season Bruins) show up -- Series goes to 7, coin toss who wins

The Bruins are the far better team. Meaning even if the bad version of the B's shows up, there is still a very legit chance of winning. be positive!
