Stevie Y does apparently.

Next step is to trade Vinny to the Habs for Subban.

GM MacTavish:
"On behalf of the Edmonton Oilers, I would like to thank Habsfan18 for once again hosting the Habs board Mock Draft this year, as well as the city of HFBoardVille for giving us a warm welcome today."

*Crowd boos*

GM MacTavish:
"Up yours... at this time, we'd like to bring up our head scout, CrimsonSkorpion, to announce the Oiler's 1st round selection."

*CrimsonSkorpion steps up to the podium*

HS CrimsonSkorpion:
"With the 7th overall pick of this year's entry draft, the Edmonton Oilers are pleased to select, from Brynas IF Gavle of the Sweden Elitserien, centre Elias Lindholm!

"Lindholm is an excellent offensive centre with amazing playmaking ability, good skating -- his agility and acceleration are what impress us the most, along with his first step -- and his vision and high hockey IQ tell us that he'll be a #1 centre for our organization very soon. On top of that, his defensive game is impressive as well. He is willing to throw his weight around and because he is so well balanced and smart in the defensive zone, more often than not he comes out of the defensive zone with the puck on his stick. We were shocked to see him fall into our spot and we are even more pleased to use our pick to snag him."

*Next GM PM'ed.

Embarrassment of riches up front, yet still an embarrassing defense.

I went into this draft saying, "Picking a D, picking a D, picking a D," and then Lindholm happened.

Hard to blame you.

I mean the last thing the Lightning needs is another C, but you'd have to be insane to turn down MacKinnon when Jones and Drouin are not the other options.

what can you say, Lindolm happens.

Hopefully the Lindhom doesn't hit the fan in Edmonton because of this pick

If Calgary had picked Lindholm, would you have picked Nichushkin, or a D?

A D for sure, either Risto or Nurse. Not high on Nichuskin.

With the 8th Overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft - The Buffalo Sabres are so proud to select.....

From the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds Darnell Nurse!!!

At 6'4 185lbs we feel Nurse is a top pairing D in the making. He is an authoritative force on the back end both as a shutdown defenseman AND an offensive threat. We feel at our position with who was available he was the best player available. This was quite simply a no brainer move.

Next GM PMd.

Nichuskin is the most polarizing player in the draft, for what he can do on the ice and what he might do off the ice.

In reality I don't think Calgary can take a risk on a guy who might not come over and Lindholm fills an immediate need. But this is a mock and I really think he's going to be a great one and won't get fired for taking another risky project in the first!

Who else had him top of their list? Who would have taken him if I didn't?

Considering this is a mock and my job isn't on the line, I would have taken Nichushkin over any forward not named MacKinnon or Drouin.

Buddah is MIA, so here's what we can do.

First poster who is NOT taking part in the other mock, who IS a regular member of the Habs board, who HAS been a member for at least 1 full year, and who PROMISES to be active, will be the GM for the Anaheim Ducks.

First come, first serve. But please be serious about it guys. Only if you're going to take part.

If nobody takes it, we'll give Anaheim to a poster who is already in the mock.

If you still need someone, I am interested. I may not have a lot of posts but I am here reading up everyday. I am out west and work mornings, so evenings is when I'll be posting the picks if that works for everyone. Let me know.

Nervously waiting as Coyotes/future Nordiques GM right now ...okay, maybe not, but certain things need to go our way here in the next 3 picks.

They're yours if you want them. I just ask that if you know your pick will be up first thing in the morning and you know you'll be gone all day, just send me a short list of players and I'll make the pick for you (highest player available on your short list) so we can get things moving.

Of course there's always going to be times where we're busy, as we all have lives, but that's why it's always good to send a list if you know you'll be gone for awhile and your pick is coming up within the next 2-3 picks.

No Problem, I'm in. Just looking over the list and the Ducks have six picks, one in each round except for the 4th. Thanks for having me

We are done here, Gary. I'm gonna announce my damn pick and you're gonna sit down over there quietly.

With the 9th overall pick, we are proud to select from the WHL's Medicine Hat Tigers, Hunter Shinkaruk.

Quote:
This is a great pick for the Devils. You look at their wing depth past Kovalchuk and you see why they made that pick. Shinkaruk is not just a small skillful winger. He's feisty and gritty. Great hands around the net and an NHL ready wrist shot. He can burn you with speed, skill or will.

THIS IS HORRIBLE! WHO IS GONNA REPLACE BRODEUR?!

Quote:
Security. Security. We've got Code Pierre here. Very urgent. Congratulations on the pick Lou. He's got a great name but why did you make Hunter your 1st round selection?

Quote:
The kid's got talent. He's not gonna knock Callahan's teeth out but he'll dangle around him enough times to make the schmuck dizzy. Talent, James, talent.
