I didn't say the head injury was why he missed that practice, I said the people who need to know why he wasn't there knew why he wasn't there, I assume of course you are not on that list.

As I said at the time and others did as well, that was a scheduled off day for the team as the CBA mandates that there are 4 of those a month. Pommers had left his family and his life behind in Buffalo with the ringing of the phone and had been on the road and living out of a hotel room for a few weeks at that point so it is perfectly reasonable that he scheduled something stupid like finding a home for his family or taking care of other personal business on the scheduled off day. God forbid the man take a day to make arrangements to get his wife and kids back with him which i will bet you anything that is why he was not at that last minute practice.

My concern is if its a concussion and he skated yesterday but doesn't feel well enough to play, I have a hard time believing he's somehow going to magically be ok to play in game 2 or even in this series... maybe PMB's concussion makes me skeptical but I just don't like the sounds of this. "Practiced yesterday, looked great" then next day can't play game 1 of what's probably the teams biggest game in 5 years.. I'm just saying I don't think this bodes well and I'm not expecting Pom back in the near future now... I mean if its a concussion obviously this is how it has to be, but it still sucks... I wish Heater could at least play...having Heater AND Pominville for this game would be so sweet... damn injuries...

I'm not worried about Backstrom, I'm worried about our team/defense getting pinned in our end for 90 seconds at a time.

Smart sticks/smart clearing? Follow the puck out of the zone, don't just toss it up and hope it doesn't get intercepted (like was been happening way too often this month). I've seen some really good stick work when the team is playing well.

Minnesota's winning this.

Good luck fellas from this Sens fan. I know about 100 of my friends and family members in Manitoba are cheering their butts off for you. Edit: (and a few of us here in Ottawa)

GO WILD!

Doubt we'll even see Pommers then. As others have said, skated full practice, symptoms / not feeling well the day after. Meanwhile, Brown got to rest up for the playoffs. What a joke.

Also, Heater getting thrown to the ice (after the game was over) and he's out. Grr. Such a horrible lead up to the postseason

My gawd...this 100%. When they get pinned deep in the defensive zone, it's like you can see a goal against coming 20-30 seconds before it happens.

My fear is that the Wild will be down 2-0 before they even know what hit them, and it'll be game, set, and match.

Yeah, early Chicago goal -> we're done. The more time it takes, the better it gets. Early Minnesota goal would be interesting.

Well, I want to wish you guys luck. It's much easier to like the Wild than the Blackhawks and their "fans". I genuinely hope you guys pull out a win tonight.

The first period is the biggest key to maybe this whole series. The Hawks will come out like crazy. They will put on an absolute show. If you guys can weather the storm, you have a chance. The first 10 minutes are critical. Hell, even 5 minutes. Keep them scoreless for those 10 minutes and you give yourself a chance. If by some miracle you're able to escape the first period without them scoring, you can turn this thing into a bit of a series.

Well the Wild have looked dominated in the first period for just about 48 straight games this year, and we've managed to get this far

I think more important than when the first goal comes is keeping the deficit within 1 (if there's a deficit). The Wild have some clutch guys like Parise (see Gold Medal Game in Vancouver 2010) and Setoguchi (see his multiple OT goals in his last playoff run with the Sharks) so if they can stay within striking distance they might be able to pull off a late stunner to tie it and swing the momentum back their way.

(Better yet, of course, is to strike early and often.)

Normally I'd wish the same back as I typically rooted for the Sharks. But not after that Vlasic crap.

Ugh, what is it with the NHL. There's so many damn teams that I hate / will not root for no matter what. In other sports, for 95% of the teams, I couldn't care less about their success / failure

You guys are huge underdogs in this series, every news outlet I've listened to has you guys losing (some even saying a sweep!).

But have no fear..I'm on your side! I think you guys have some magic in you.. I picked the Wild in 7 and a run to the Conference Finals

Not quite yet but close.

3 goals / 212 games played = 0.014

Stoner can't score... Coyle takes all of his goals.

I'm not entirely sure what team we will see out there tonght. All I know is everything up to this point is thrown out the window. Hoping for a long and fruitful series.
