Not surprised, I think it's different for retail stores then it is for fast food.

In the retail world your competing with so many other places, including the internet and the item your selling was made elsewhere and has a specific price you have to pay for it.

Fast food, there isn't the competition and most of the food sold comes from in house, especially at McDonalds, so the cost of operations is next to nothing. It's how even with the $1 menu they turn a profit, now imagine the non $1 items, its like %1000 made on every item.

Also, a massive part of their low prices is that they are powerful enough to undercut wholesale prices. An example I've often heard is Wrigley. Walmart tells them, "we want to sell your gum for 5c less than everyone per pack, so we're going to pay 8c less than everyone else. Take it or leave it." And no one ever leaves it.

Was at the gas station a little while ago, paid cash, was owed 2 cents and I was just standing there and she said, "did you want your change?" Yeah, actually I do. If you put out one of those buckets for the crippled kids, I'll likely just drop it in there. However, it goes to my hand first, and they didn't have one of those buckets anyway so no ****ing way I'm just letting you leave it in the register. Don't people understand that if we treat pennies like nothing, eventually they will get taken away? That means everything is going to get rounded up 5 cents higher. I know it isn't that much but it adds up. This isn't just an isolated incident either. I've been noticing an attitude change with pennies. My girlfriend handed me a bag of garbage a few months ago and it was clinging around, I knew there was money in there. I just straight up told her "What the **** is wrong with you?!?"

Having too many coins is a serious pet peeve of mine, but I accept small amounts of change back almost 100 percent of the time and just find ways to get the change out of my car console/wallet.

Umm yeah, I dont agree with you there. I can say that from times I've been at stores, usually it's the cashier given you a nickel back instead of 4 cents or whatever. I honestly think the cashier thought you didn't want to be bothered by two pennies, like most don't. It evens out in the end...

The only place I get extra is the liquor store, nowhere else. So I guess you're right, it does even out.

Yeah, I made one, but people really got into talking music in here. It took off better than the thread for music. It's because it got lost in all the hockey discussion I guess.

Feel free to revive it.

I'm waiting for a 'Zus one to be made so I can rock it.

I think you're just steaming that Lacy is going to punch that Bears defense right in the chops.

I can only how incredible being able to see all this music come out and see these bands tour in their prime was. I pray I can witness an epic era like the late 60s, 70s, and 80s.

My car's kicks all kinds of ass. It's very powerful.

I had some Stone Temple Pilots, Jet, The Offspring, Allman Brothers Band, Soungarden, Lenny Kravitz, The Beatles, and more rocking just today. It's fun to tune out other cars when everyone has their windows down. It was a great day to cruise and jam.

I really don't care. When I was doing them I'd put them up right before I'd go to bed (so like 9-930).
