Sorry but you don't go with a smaller lineup in the playoffs.

No, but we think he's better than Ebbett.

The same Cody Hodgson who had 6 points in his last 16 games this year....you're right, he blew JS' 4 in 16 out of the water.

Hodgson is obviously a 50% better player than Schroeder.

You do if they are clear upgrades on some of your players.

I don't see who Schroeder is an upgrade over.

Roy is a better 3C, and that gives us the strongest lineup.

He is an upgrade over Ebbett and gives us the ability to stack the second line which brings the most out of everyone imo. Hansen and Raymond haven't looked better than when we had that line with Schroeder, and that second line complimented itself really nicely, the only problem was Ebbett .

Not interested in starting the playoffs with Schroeder in the lineup. He only fits in the top 9 style wise and I don't want him centering the third line.

Sedin Sedin Kassian
Burrows Kesler Raymond
Higgins Roy Hansen
Sestito/Ebbett Lapierre Wiese

Is the best group we can ice, if we struggle to score goals here and there and need to load up Kesler and Roy for a game, then I wouldn't mind this:

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Higgins Roy Kesler
Raymond Schroeder Hansen

But I don't think we need to start with Schroeder there, we got Roy for a reason, because we lacked center depth, now that we have it, let's use it.

Kessler missed most the season. Roy's addition provides depth and security if someone does get injured.

Why start with the pairings we already know have failed in the past? Raymond has never worked with Kesler despite seemingly endless attempts, while Hansen played his worst games of the season with Roy. If Schroeder struggles and we need to rotate lines, doing so early allows for far more leeway than if we're heading toward game three or four.

I'd rather go with the combinations that has proven to work than repeat failure.

Jordan Schroeder is an offensive black hole who has trouble scoring against opponents not named Calgary.

Defensively he's ok at best.

Not a reliable faceoff guy either. The Ebbett advantage is that he has 160 more games than JS.

Even if its on the wing, Schroeder should be in before Ebbett.

Why Why Why?

If Schroeder wasn't a first round pick, if he was some guy picked up on waivers people wouldn't be in love with this mysterious ability he has.

Ebbett has been fine. He's just a whipping boy for fans but he's a lot more reliable defensively, more experienced, and has something like 8 shorthanded goals in his career.

His AHL numbers are better than JS's too.

Great, and if it was 2011 then I'm all for it. Too bad that Raymond seems to have vanished and hasn't worked with Kesler since.

completely untrue, and if he is an offensive black hole, what does that make Ebbett?

Experience is only important if the player isn't a scrub for most of it

Please let's not limit the Sedin's production by sticking Kassian with them.

Ebbett is a healthy scratch or a 4th line LW. Schroeder can't play wing at the NHL level yet.

The Hansen - Schroeder - Raymond line wasn't very good. For a line getting easy 2nd line minutes JS produced at a miserable clip, some due to bad luck but mostly due to not being good enough.

AV sheltered JS with easy matchups, it's a very stupid move to do the same when the Kesler/Roy line is better suited to score.

I don't know how anyone can advocate giving JS the 3rd line C when Lappy has proven he's much better in the role.

Maybe Schroeder in a 4C spot if someone gets injured. He can't handle the matchups SJ will throw at us, theres literally nothing he's shown this season that says he's ready to go against Thornton, Couture or Pavelski.

vision and playmaking ability is a mystery to you?

also saying Ebbett is reliable defensively is LOL worthy and makes me wonder what games you have been watching, he regularly gets outshot, and outchanced by whatever line he faces.

He also only has 1 shorthanded goal in the NHL, and none while playing for the Canucks

Who gives a damn where he's drafted? Schroeder's brief stint with us was Raymond's best games. Sure, the kid struggles offensively but he was a revolving door and somehow put on the powerplay point - he was put in a position to fail. You are evaluating him when he simply had little opportunity to succeed. Our best lines have been Higgins/Roy/Kesler and Raymond/Schroeder/Hansen at different points during the season. Why not go back to what works?

Agree. Ebbett is terribad and shouldn't even be a stick boy for this team. Schroeder is a much better option, offensively and defensively. Ebbett just drags down anyone he plays with.

Do you really think the 1 inch difference is an issue, between Schroeder and Ebbett. Schroeder is also heavier.
