With the 10th overall pick in the 2013 HF Habs Mock Draft, the Dallas Stars are pleased to select from the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League, defenseman Nikita Zadorov.

We fell in love with Nikita's mobility, offensive instincts, and willingness to punish opposing players. He has great size and no qualms about throwing it around, but he can also pinch into a rush and has the footspeed to recover in time in his own end. He has a special skillset and we anticipate him wreaking havoc on our blueline for years with twin tower and fellow first rounder Jamie Oleksiak.

Next GM has been PM'd.

I'd say the next pick is a no-brainer and then the draft gets wide open.

A Zadorov-Oleksiak pairing would be awesome.

If we're thinking about the same player... can you imagine if he actually fell to Philly in the real draft? Flyers management would be doing sommersaults on their way to the podium.

I remember people saying the same thing about the Flyers and Dougie Hamilton back in 2011

Thanks once again for Habsfan18 for organizing this draft.

With the 11th pick the Philadelphia Flyers are very pleased to select from TPS Finland defenceman Rasmus Ristolainen

The Flyers see Rasmus as the top pair dman who may contribute right away. His physical presence is something we may have been lacking lately.

Next GM notified

Ouch.

I really hope it works out though. As I've said before, it would be very neat to compare two full 7 round drafts after they're done, to see how the match up, especially years down the road.

With the 12th pick in the 2013 NHL draft, the Phoenix Coyotes (if we're still in Phoenix by draft day), are so proud to select, from the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League, Max Domi!

In case you hadn't realized, we probably have the worst set of forwards in the NHL and have a nice group of young defenceman. We badly need offence, especially at the center position, so Domi is a perfect fit! His offensive skills are top notch, he thinks the game well, he's extremely strong and he's a heck of a competitor despite his lack of height. So far in the OHL playoffs, he has been a big game player, stepping up his game in elimination games.

Homarid has been PMd.

I have 5 main guys on my shortlist for my 1st rounder, with 5 picks until mine. If all my guys get picked off here, prepare for Habsfan18 rage mode.

Hey at least you get to pick in the first 2 rounds !

It could be worse... like being the GM of the NYR.

If Ristolainen falls to the Flyers in real life I'll be a sad panda.

Only marginally worse than Chicago... and even that's debatable.

Just noticed that both mocks have Colorado picking Drouin 1st overall. I wasn't really surprised, but I don't think I'd wager money on that happening for real. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Colorado traded down with someone who wanted their choice of the "big 3/4". I would be surprised if they didn't value MacKinnon's game over Drouin's; given the value they seem to see in O'Reilly vs Duchene, for example.

They certainly don't need another RH shot defenseman (although I think anyone would trade Johnson, Barrie, Elliot, or Siemens to get Jones at this point, if they could), and they're kinda stacked (in a healthy season) at the two positions that Drouin can play, but are organizationally thin on the RW for sure, and they have almost nothing in the way of RH centres either.

And again, when O'Reilly or Landeskog weren't in the lineup, Duchene/Parenteau's ~20G/40+Pts seasons didn't seem to translate into very many wins from my modest number of viewings this year. You can be sure that won't be lost on whoever is cleaning up the mess in Colorado by the summer. Their talent needed more space, and the team needed to work opponents harder (like the started to last year). Drouin, imo, isn't necessarily the best guy of the top 3/4 for the job - despite the boatloads of skill.

If you talk about our 2 Mock draft i just draft Drouin for Tampa Bay at 3rd pick, Seth Jones have been draft 1st OV

Hoping to get my pick in (18) tonight before bed. I'll send a list to someone (likely hoto, overlords or crimson) if they dont mind, before bed just in case, assuming some more picks come in tonight.
